I’ve been pretty quiet here on Facebook so I thought I would reintroduce myself and what I have to offer!
Hi 👋 I’m Martha, as well as sharing yoga I play Taiko (Japanese drums), I enjoy crafts and I’m getting married next year! I’m also a trained dancer and teach dance to over-50s with a local charity.
Dance is what ignited my passion of exploring mind-body connection. I started noticing how many of us don’t value or understand our own bodies, the things that we literally couldn’t live without. So I set out on a mission to help others build that connection with their own body.
Yoga helps us develop stronger intuition, to properly understand what messages our bodies are telling us at any given time. Self-connection and intuition supports your mental health (noticing the busy-ness or struggles of the mind), physical health (being aware of warning signs), spatial awareness, social interaction, empathy for others around you, your truest wants and desires, your truest self, I could go on!
All of this is then the perfect access point for my other main draw to yoga: presence
Being present is a skill, one that we have to practice and build just like any other skill. And yoga isn’t just about making shapes on a mat, everything we do in our yoga practice trains us for how we want to be living our lives. The more I stay frequent with my own yoga practice, the more present I am in every other aspect of my life.
And isn’t that what it’s really all about, living the experiences with presence, intention and joy!
Well that got kind of deep- I appreciate you if you read until the end! I’ll do a second post sharing my offerings plus… news of an exciting new intermediate level class! 👀
