Next week is 'Check Your Blood Pressure Week.'

You can get your blood pressure checked for free at drop-in sessions across the city between 8 and 11 September. If the results raise any concerns, you’ll be given advice on what to do next.

🫀 Check your blood pressure!

The Public Health team are offering free blood pressure checks next week in libraries, to help raise awareness of the dangers of high blood pressure:

Monday 8 September:

📌Devonport Library - 9.30am to 12pm
📌Central Library - 10am to 4pm
📌Efford Library - 1pm to 3.30pm

Wednesday 10 September:

📌St Budeaux Library - 10am to 4pm

High blood pressure has no symptoms but can be a major risk factor for strokes, heart attacks and kidney disease.

If you’re over 40 and haven’t had your blood pressure checked recently, come along to one of the drop-in sessions – it's quick and easy!

Plymouth’s Perinatal Peer Support Groups offer a safe space to talk about:
• Low mood
• Feeding worries
• The emotional side of parenting

FACT: Breastfeeding releases oxytocin, the “love hormone”, but it’s also normal to feel stressed or unsure. You are not alone.
