There seems to be a glitch with Google and lots of businesses have 'lost' some genuine reviews - including us.😬

It would be really kind if you could leave a review again or indeed a new one to support our small business.
Thanks so much.

We have been getting queries about NHS foot care...

We are commissioned by NHS Devon ICB to provide Podiatry to eligible patients. Eligibilty depends on strict criteria depending on your medical and foot condition (generally wounds, deformity or pain in the high risk foot.)

You can refer yourself or via a Podiatrist or other Health Professional (Livewell Southwest).

Anyone can refer themselves to us as a private patient. Tel 01752 343477.

"What's the difference between a Podiatrist and a Chiropodist?" We get asked this question on a regular basis ....

Podiatrists have a degree in Podiatric Medicine. We are Health Care Professionals.
(Not to be confused with Foot Care Specialist, Foot Health Practitioner, Foot doctor etc etc)

When looking for a Podiatrist, make sure the letters HCPC ( Health and Care Professions Council) are included in their qualifications.
This means they have the correct post nominals and more importantly they are Regulated and checked for Clinical Standards and research led practice.

A Podiatrist can assess, diagnose and treat disorders of the lower limb. The terms Chiropodist and Podiatrist are currently interchangeable terms. Some Podiatrists also develop specialities such as biomechanics, sports, diabetes and surgery either in the NHS or private practice.

To become a Podiatrist, one must complete an Honours degree level course which includes 1000 hours of clinical practice. Podiatry students study areas including anatomy, physiology, medicine, biomechanics, clinical practice and much more.

Once qualified, a Podiatrist is an autonomous practitioner who can deliver the treatment required for many problems affecting the foot and lower limb as well as general "chiropody".

Podiatrists are regulated by the HCPC, you can check if any practitioner is registered through their website. The Royal College of Podiatrists also has a data base.
