"I’d like to say a big thank you to all staff involved in successfully helping my son be here safely even though it was unexpected and quick.

All staff are amazing and work your socks off for everyone who comes through your doors and always have a positive attitude with a open heart towards all.

We will always be grateful for what you did for our little family but now it’s on the road to recovery for our little Jacob.

A big thank you to Nat, Georgia and student midwife jade for keep us all strong in a tough situation.

Love always"
- Baby Hancock

This week from Thursday 9 October to Wednesday 15 October we will be marking the 22nd Baby Loss Awareness Week. It is a time for families, healthcare professionals, charities, and communities to come together and remember much-loved babies and support all those affected by pregnancy and baby loss.

1 in 4 families will experience the heart breaking loss of a baby during pregnancy, infancy, or birth. We aim to raise awareness of the importance of accessible and compassionate bereavement support and highlight the ongoing work that is improving care, pregnancy outcomes and helping to save the lives of babies.

Families choose many different ways to remember, from attending services, joining community events or through quite private moments of reflection. The week concludes with the global on 15 October, when candles will be lit at 7pm in memory of much loved and much missed babies.

Child Accident Prevention Trust empower families to keep children safe from harm, spreading knowledge, building confidence and supporting changes in behaviour. Babies and young children can drown in very little water with no sound to warn you it’s happening.

- Get everything ready before you start
- Keep small children within arm’s reach to keep them safe from drowning
- Remember, bath seats aren’t safety devices. Babies can slip out or it can tip over
If you need to leave the bathroom take your child with you

Feeling your baby move - what you need to know

One of the most exciting parts of pregnancy is feeling your baby move. You’ll usually start to notice movements between 16 and 24 weeks, and over time, you’ll get to know your baby’s unique pattern.

These movements are a sign your baby is well. That’s why it’s important to be aware of what’s normal for your baby.

Call Maternity Triage on 01752 430200 immediately if:

-Your baby is moving less than usual

-You can’t feel your baby moving anymore

-There’s a change in your baby’s usual pattern of movements

Don’t wait until the next day, even if it’s the middle of the night, it's always okay to call.

Midwives will want to check on your baby’s movements and heartbeat, and you're never wasting their time. Trust your instincts.
