🐞Sometimes the hardest part isn’t what happened - it’s living in a body that has learned that it has to stay alert.

Many of the women that I work with, don’t describe themselves as traumatised. Instead, they talk about feeling tense, guarded, or unable to fully rest or receive - even when life looks “okay” on the surface.

This isn’t a flaw or something that needs fixing. It’s often the nervous system still protecting.

When the body has learned to survive, safety doesn’t automatically return just because circumstances change. Supporting the body to feel safe again doesn’t come from pushing, analysing, or trying harder — it comes from slowness, choice, and letting the body set the pace.

This understanding sits at the heart of my nervous-system-led embodiment work, and the short online embodiment series that I’m currently offering for women who feel ready to reconnect with their body in a gentle, supported way.

When the nervous system has learned to survive, even things we want - rest, choice, expansion, healing - can feel unsettling or activating rather than freeing.

This isn’t resistance.
It isn’t self-sabotage.
It’s protection.

🦋The body may still be learning what feels safe again, even when the mind knows that change is good.

🐞When choice feels overwhelming rather than freeing, it’s often a sign that the nervous system has learned to live in survival.

🌸Following overwhelming or traumatic experiences — including illness, fertility challenges, or medical treatment - many women find themselves constantly alert, guarded, or tense, even when life looks “settled” on the surface. Joy, ease, and the ability to receive can feel distant or unsafe.

This isn’t a personal failing.
It’s the body protecting itself.

✨I work with women who recognise that they’ve been navigating their world through survival and are ready to gently support their nervous system and reconnect with safety, balance, and trust in the body.

🐞There is a part of healing that no one talks about — the moment when life looks the same again, but you feel completely different inside.

🌸After breast cancer and then brain surgery, I realised how deeply illness had changed me. Not just physically, but emotionally and energetically too.
I wasn’t the same woman that I’d been before — and I had to rediscover who I was becoming.

💫I am sharing more of this part of my story because so many women tell me they feel this too… the quiet, tender part of healing where you’re finding your way back to yourself.

When life feels uncertain or you’re caught in the waiting — take a moment to pause.

💫Place your hands softly on your lower belly.
💫Breathe deeply.
💫Feel warmth beneath your palms, the subtle movement of life within you.

🌿Let your breath travel all the way down, grounding you into your body.
Notice any sensation — tingling, stillness, warmth — and simply allow it.

This is embodiment.
A soulful moment of reconnection.
A reminder that your body is always communicating, always holding you.

Finding time, even a minute, for mindful touch, can bring balance to your nervous system, settle your energy, and invite calm.
