We have a blood pressure machine in our Waiting Room for anyone who would like to check their blood pressure and BMI.

Around a third of adults in the UK have high blood pressure, but many will not realise it. The only way to find out if you have high blood pressure is to have your blood pressure checked. Getting this done is easy and could save your life.

💧 Keeping Kids Hydrated in Hot Weather 💧

When the sun’s out, little ones can lose fluids quickly – but there are plenty of easy ways to keep them topped up! ☀️🥤

✅ Offer water regularly throughout the day – even if they don’t ask
✅ Try fun drinks like weakly diluted fruit juice or homemade ice lollies made from watered-down juice
✅ Encourage hydrating snacks like:
🍉 Watermelon
🍓 Strawberries
🍇 Grapes
🥒 Cucumber sticks
🍅 Cherry tomatoes
🍊 Oranges

These foods have a high water content and help keep kids cool and refreshed!

Please Note,

The BBC has recently ran a story on NHS prescribing Weight Loss Injections for patients, as yet we have not received any regional guidance from the Devon ICB regarding the role of the GP surgery in prescribing Mounjaro for weight loss.

When received, we expect the guidance will in the first instance relate to those patients only at the highest risks from obesity which means having a BMI of 40 or more and at least 4 of the following Atherosclerosis, High blood pressure and on medications, High Cholesterol and on medication, treated for Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, Type 2 diabetes.

Once we receive further guidance we will inform those patients who meet the criteria accordingly.
