This December, kindness is at the heart of everything we do at Michaelstowe 🏡✨
As part of our 100 Good Deeds Challenge, our lovely resident Carole and our wonderful Activities Coordinator, Lauren, teamed up with Plympton’s Litter Pickers to help keep our local community clean and cared for 🌍🧤

Despite the cold and wet weather, spirits were high and we were rewarded afterwards with some much-needed tea and cake ☕🍰 A perfect way to warm up and enjoy a well-earned treat!

It was a fantastic opportunity to get outdoors, give back, and show that making a difference has no age limit. A big thank you to Plympton’s Litter Pickers for welcoming us and for all the amazing work you do!

Here at Michaelstowe we love to watch 'I'm a Celebrity Get me Out or Here' and decided to take part in some bush tucker trials and eat some spiders and worms (all jelly of course)... 🐛🕷

As part of Michaelstowe's 100 Good Deeds Challenge, we’ve been celebrating the small acts of kindness that make the biggest difference. This week has been full of heart-warming moments. 💛
Joan created a beautiful, personalised Christmas tree decoration for our Handyperson, Steve, as a special thank you for all the hard work he does behind the scenes. And yesterday, our residents had a wonderful time making appreciation cards for our care team, then personally delivering them and lighting up the home with smiles and surprise.
It’s amazing to see how kindness shared becomes joy multiplied. ✨

Our new Activity Coordinator, Lauren, has been busy getting to know every resident and planning activities they love. From making bracelets and gingerbread families to fun party blower games, there’s laughter and joy everywhere! 💖
And the fun isn’t stopping!... exciting activities are coming up, including themed craft sessions, music, dancing, Christmas fun and more surprises to keep everyone smiling. 🌟
Lauren is truly making a difference, and we can’t wait to see what else she has us all doing next! 😊

This week, our lovely resident Carole teamed up with our amazing housekeeper Naomi for a little shopping trip to the local supermarket, to pick up some rice for our homemade sweet and sour chicken lunch — a real team effort! 🍚🍗
Outings like these are such an important part of life here at Michaelstowe. They help our residents stay connected with the local community, enjoy familiar routines, and share meaningful moments beyond the home. 💛
A big thank-you to Naomi for making the trip such a fun and engaging experience — and to Carole for being our shopping superstar!
