From Friday 1st August we are changing our Direct Cremations at The Park. Whilst we will still offer our Unattended Direct Cremation at 8am or 8.15am, we will now be offering an Attended Direct Cremation Service at 8.30am and 8.45am for up to 15 mourners in one of our Ceremony Rooms. You will also have up to 15 minutes which includes time to enter and leave the Ceremony Room. Families can choose one piece of music from a list, a period of reflection and the Funeral Director or mourner can say a few words about your loved one.

Work to improve public transport links to The Park is set to begin later this month.

The installation of two new bus stops each side of Merafield Road and an associated pedestrian puffin crossing and pavement will start from Monday 28 July.

While works are on-going, temporary three-way traffic lights will be in place outside of The Park. The lights will be manually controlled to allow the smooth flow of traffic attending funerals.

Construction will only take place between 9.30am and 3.30pm and is expected to finish by the end of October.

The first phase of the works will include the bus stop closest to The Park, which will be brought into use before the full scheme is delivered, to provide access to the crematorium and café as soon as possible.

The roses in our Garden of Remembrance and Children’s Memorial Area are out in bloom at Weston Mill and looking lovely. 🌹

If you are visiting The Park in the next few months I have been alerted to some roadworks on Cot Hill. These roadworks are taking place to install a new crossing.

Roadworks will start on Monday 14th July until Sunday 5th October and will be managed by 3 way signals between Valley Road and Dudley Road, 24 hours but will be manually controlled at peak times.

Over the last few days our contractors have been planting in and around our ornamental pond that surrounds the Crematorium building. This planting will further encourage wildlife to visit the pond.
