Since my eldest son was little, he has received massages from me, and it seems he remembers how they help him feel calm.
I carry my youngest son all the time, but as my seven-year-old grows, physical contact naturally becomes less frequent. So our bedtime massage has become a special bonding time for us.
When we dim the lights, light some candles, and play soft healing music, it feels like a bedtime spa.
On days when his legs ache from growing pains or overuse, I use techniques focused on easing pain-related discomfort.
I try to use essential oils (or sometimes just a single oil) that my son chooses himself, blending them with my own selections so he can fully relax and enjoy the experience āŗļø
While Iām giving the massage, he chatters away, but suddenly his battery runs out and he gently drifts off to sleep š“
As he grows older, Iām sure heāll become busy with sports and other activities. But I hope that in the future he will remember how to relax and become someone who can practice self-care.
I know that one day heāll grow independent and build his own life.
But Iāll always be here to support him whenever he needs me.
