👋 Hi, I’m Yumiko - the owner of Yumi’s Aromatherapy & Wellbeing. I’m a professional aromatherapist, fully insured and accredited by the International Federation of Aromatherapists (IFA), and a holistic massage therapist originally from Japan.
🏠 My cosy home-based salon is where I offer treatments designed to bring both physical and emotional balance, in a calm space where you can take a deep breath and unwind.
💁🏻♀️I began my career in 2006 and have worked in various spas and salons across Japan, offering aromatherapy, facials, machine aesthetics, Swedish massage, Japanese acupressure, traditional Thai massage, and reflexology.
💆🏻♀️Later, I opened my own salon in Japan and another in the Netherlands before relocating to the UK. After living in Glasgow and York, I eventually settled in Pocklington. While raising my children, I reopened my practice in 2021, and I’m delighted to now have more availability as my youngest grows older.
🏃🏻♀️➡️Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting clients from many walks of life, and I’m grateful for every interaction that has shaped my practice and helped me grow.
I’ve also had the joy of caring for many expectant mothers, both in Japan and here in the UK - moments that remain especially close to my heart especially now as a mother of two myself. Today, I offer treatments that support women through various stages of life, as well as personalised massage therapies tailored to individual needs.

As my practice continues to grow, I hope to one day create a small studio or peaceful garden salon - still one-to-one, still personalised, still deeply calm - a space where clients can experience even more comfort and quiet during their healing time.
