After the hot bank holiday weekend, we’re back open as normal today ☀️💛

We hope you all enjoyed the sunshine and a well-earned break.

With the warm weather continuing, remember to stay hydrated, take care in the heat, and look after yourself.

And if you’re finding busy outdoor spaces or family gatherings harder to hear in noisy environments, it might be time to check in on your hearing too.

Gratitude works both ways.

I was blown away yesterday by gifts to the staff at YARM

I think we all ( at Your Heating Consultants - not just in YARM) feel the same way.

I love my job because I have the privilege of making a real difference in people’s lives. Very quickly, it becomes far more than simply clinician and patient.

To really help somebody hear better, I have to get to know not only them, but often the people they love most too, their lifestyle, their struggles, their worries, and what matters most to them every single day.

In a short space of time, I’m trusted with something incredibly personal.

I have to build trust, understanding, and respect, whilst guiding people through something that can feel emotional, frustrating, and overwhelming.

So today, I just wanted to say thank you.

Thank you to my patients for allowing me to be part of their journey, for trusting me, and for letting me share in a small part of their life’s adventure. I will never take this privilege for granted.

A huge thank you to everyone joining in, donated and helped support such an important cause. It sparked lots of lovely conversations and plenty of smiles along the way 💛

This week, our team are proudly supporting the brilliant Dementia Forward and their “Don’t Keep Dementia Under Your Hat” campaign.

You’ll spot plenty of hats in clinic over the next few days all helping to raise awareness and support for those affected by dementia.

We’re delighted to welcome Rory to our clinic in Selby as our new Clinic Manager! 🎉

Rory will be helping to ensure our patients receive the highest level of care and support, while overseeing the day-to-day running of the clinic and making every visit a smooth and welcoming experience.

A little bit about Rory in his spare time, he and his family support Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. With the help of volunteers, the charity transforms lives by rebuilding connections, companionship and the emotional impacts of hearing loss.

Please join us in giving Rory a very warm welcome to the team — we’re excited to have him on board! 👏💜

This week marks yet another important awareness week 💛

Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that our wellbeing is shaped by so many different parts of our health, including our hearing.

Struggling to hear conversations, feeling left out socially, or losing confidence in everyday situations can all have a real impact on mental wellbeing.

Sometimes, taking the first step with your hearing can make a huge difference to how you feel day to day ✨

We love seeing moments where hearing really connects people, and this is a lovely one

The BBC has launched Tiny Tunes on CBeebies, a brand new series bringing nursery rhymes to life for both deaf and hearing children, helping them enjoy music together in a whole new way.

It’s a brilliant reminder that hearing (and communication in all its forms) is about connection, inclusion and shared experiences.
