You did the right thing.

You found a therapist. You showed up.

But nothing changed.

If talk therapy hasn’t helped your teen with anxiety, you’re not alone and it’s not your fault.

Many teens don’t respond to traditional approaches.

They might feel forced into it.

They might not know how to talk about what’s wrong.

They might leave each session feeling just as stuck.

But that doesn’t mean they can’t get overcome it.
It means they need a different kind of support.

🟡 One that starts with what’s working
🟡 One that focuses on goals, not just problems
🟡 One that gives them tools, not just talk

That’s what we do here.

If you’re ready for therapy that actually fits your teen, not the other way around, just comment "YES" and I'll get in touch.

When your teen is anxious, it’s natural to want to fix things.

But true confidence comes when they see their own ability to handle what’s hard.

That doesn’t mean stepping back completely. It means shifting your role.

You become the mirror that reflects their strengths back to them.

They don’t need to feel strong all the time.

They just need to know strength exists within them and that you see it, even when they can’t.

Comment "More" and I'll send over some information.

Anxious teens don’t always have the words but their silence, mood swings, or shutdowns are still saying something.

They might be thinking:
🗯️ “I don’t know why I feel like this.”
🗯️ “I want to talk, but I don’t know how.”
🗯️ “I hate that I’m like this around you.”

As a parent, that can feel heartbreaking. And powerless.

But here’s the truth: they don’t need you to have all the answers.

They need to know you see them.

📌 Save this for the days when it’s difficult to know what to say. but you still want to show up the right way.

And if you want to learn more about how i can help just comment "YES"

When teens are anxious, they’re not always looking for answers.

They’re looking for safety.

And safety sounds like:
🟡 “I’m here.”
🟡 “I get it.”
🟡 “You don’t have to explain everything right now.”

The shift from “Listen to me” → “I’m listening”

…can change the entire tone of your relationship.

Not softer.

Just safer.

📌 Save this for when you want to connect, not correct.

If your teen shuts down when you bring up therapy…

If they say “I don’t want to talk about everything”…

They’re not avoiding healing.

They’re avoiding being overwhelmed.

That’s why Solution-Focused Therapy is different.

We don’t begin with the trauma.

We begin with the goal.

The future.

The flickers of strength they already have — even if they can’t see them yet.

Because healing doesn’t have to mean reliving.

Comment "YES" if you want to learn more.

Your teen might not say, “School is stressing me out.”

But their behaviour might.

Irritability. Sunday dread. Sudden “illnesses.” Silence after school.

If school is the source of their stress, we don’t need to push them to talk, we need to start paying closer attention.

📌 Save this post as a reminder to look beyond words and into what your teen’s showing you every day.

When teens say “I’m fine,” it can mean a dozen different things.

Sometimes it’s a shield.

Sometimes it’s a test.

And sometimes… they really don’t know what they’re feeling.

If you’ve tried to start a conversation and hit a wall, you’re not alone, but it’s not the end.

Here’s what helps:

🟡 Approach with curiosity, not pressure
🟡 Validate without needing to fix
🟡 Keep the door open, even when they don’t walk through it right away

Trust is built in the quiet moments.

Save this for when “I’m fine” doesn’t feel fine.

Parents often ask me, “What more should I be doing?”

But sometimes, the most powerful shift is not doing more it’s letting go of what’s not yours to carry.

This isn't giving up.

It’s grounding yourself in what’s actually helpful.

When you focus on what’s in your control, you give your child the stability they need and give yourself the grace you deserve.

I’ve worked with many children who express distress through behaviour that’s hard to manage.

Aggression. Avoidance. Shutdowns.

What I’ve learned is every behaviour has a message even if it doesn’t come with words.

Rather than asking, “How do we stop this?”

We ask:
👉 “What’s behind it?”
👉 “What do they need right now?”
👉 “Where is the overwhelm coming from?”

Children don’t need punishment for struggling.

They need safety, connection, and the tools to cope when they’re ready.

I was invited into a school to support a child with Autism and a long-standing phobia of flies, a fear that had kept him from accessing outdoor spaces for years.

We didn’t dive into therapy techniques on day one.

We started with what mattered most: connection.

By following his interests, giving him choice, and building trust, we were able to gently introduce tools that helped him feel more in control.

And from there we saw real progress.

Every child is different.

The approach should be too.

Huge thanks to the team at for their trust, collaboration and, of course, this amazing review.
