I often write poetry and share it on my page, but I feel I should share this one in here ###

The Secret Garden

Hidden behind walls so tall
A slice of heaven was found
A profusion of mixed colours
And the chirping of birds' sound

I walked along a brick path
Laid so long ago
Breathing in the perfume
From this stunning show

The flowers were abounding
From the front, back to the rear
I knelt to smell a Wallflower and
Heard bees buzzing in my ear

Drunk with God's own perfume
I moved on to the Stocks
Sturdy stems of aroma
Vying with the Flocks

The walls were covered with climbers
Honeysuckle and Roses too
Many varieties of Clematis
Purple, white and blue

Walking on I spied a bench
Beside a water fountain
I hurried to it and sat down
Water falling like gentle rain

Looking up into the sky
Fluffy clouds drifted by serenely
Changing shapes as I gazed
It really was quite heavenly

A gentle breeze brushed my face
Carrying a harmonious sound
And as I turned my head I saw
Angels all around

Everything in the garden went still
I felt totally free from fear
One stepped forward and took my hand
Whispering, Welcome home my dear
