It's roots going back more than 150 years. It was in the mid 70's that Kingsley Tresidder began assisting his father Len. He officially joined the business in 1981 before taking over in 1986 with his wife Sandra. They have now been joined in the business by their daughter Julie and son Steven, making it a third generation family business, Both Julie and Steven share the same values and commitment

to providing the unique friendly and personal service for which the business is renowned. Although the business has always been based in Ponsanooth, it now covers a wide area as it has continued the excellent reputation of its predecessors and established it's own distinct identity. Both Kingsley and Sandra are well known locally having lived all their lives in the area. They have particularly strong links to the Penryn area through school and work. The business is a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors - Kingsley gaining his Diploma in Funeral Directing in 1991 and Julie her Diploma in Funeral Arranging and Administration in 2014. In 2021 our premises underwent a complete renovation and we are delighted to offer modern facilities, with on site parking. A full range of services is offered including floral tributes and Pre-Payment Plans aswell as a 24 hour service. Memorial work can be arranged through local, reputable memorial masons.

While going through some family paperwork recently, we came across our grandmother’s order of service from nearly 40 years ago. It was lovely to see, and also a reminder of just how much things have changed.

Back then, orders of service were usually very simple – often just the words of the hymns. Today, they can be beautifully personalised, with thoughtful designs, photographs and details that truly reflect the life and personality of the person being remembered.

We work closely with our local printers, Headland Printers, to help families create meaningful and personal orders of service. If you have ideas, memories, or a particular style in mind, please talk to us. We will always do our very best to help bring your ideas together in a way that feels right for you and your loved one.

We know that Mother’s Day can bring many different emotions.

For many it is a time to celebrate mums, grandmothers, step-mums and all those who show love and care in a motherly way.

But we also know that for some, today can be a difficult one. We are thinking of those who are missing their mum, and the mothers who are carrying the loss of a child.

However you are feeling today, please be gentle with yourself. You are in our thoughts.

Today, on International Women’s Day, we’re proud to recognise and celebrate the incredible women within the funeral profession.

For us, it’s especially meaningful as part of our team is made up of women. Mother and daughter, Sandra and Julie, work alongside son and brother, Steven, supporting families in our community through some of life’s most difficult moments. As a family team, it’s a responsibility we carry with care, compassion, and dignity every day.

Today we recognise the dedication, strength, and kindness of women across the funeral industry and beyond — those who comfort families, support communities, and bring warmth and understanding to their work every day.

We apologise if our responses have been a little slower today due to the local power cut. While it presented some challenges, we worked to restore communications as quickly as possible.

We hope everyone has kept safe and that the disruption has been minimal, and we’re sorry for any difficulties it may have caused. It has been lovely to see the support shown within the community during this time.

Today we remember our wonderful husband and dad, Kingsley, three years since his passing. Always loved and never forgotten.

This photo of our family, taken at a coffee morning we held in 2021, is a special reminder that Kingsley Tresidder Funeral Service is a family business in the truest sense - owned and run by our family. We pull together when it matters most, for each other and for the families we’re privileged to care for.

His values are in everything we do. 🤍

🌷 Our Unattended Cremation Service 🌷

We're seeing a rise in requests for an unattended cremation service, as more families chose a simple, quiet way to say goodbye that feels right for them.

We thought we would just take this opportunity to share a little about how this service works with us.

With this service, your loved one will travel to one of the local Crematoriums in our hearse. We always use our hearse as we strongly believe that your loved one deserves the same level of dignity as any other service we provide.

We'll let you know the exact date and time the cremation will take place, so you can take a moment to remember your loved one in your own way.

You're very welcome to spend time with your loved one in our chapel of rest beforehand, if you wish.

We also offer the option of a few quietly taken photographs of the hearse and setting, for families who would like a small keepsake.

Our fee for this service is £1400
