My Darling Boy 🫶

Next week is your last week in school...

As you approach your GCSE's, just know that we are immensely proud of all that you have achieved... School hasn't been the place for you and seeing you struggle has broken my heart..

Its not about the Grades but about the young man that you have become and the Man you will become.. Ultimately becoming James' responsible adult when the time comes..

So, head into these final few weeks with your head held high...

(When you have ADHD, you need to be taught in a different way so that you retain information and understand what youre being taught.. Even the simplest of questions are complex if theyre not said in a certain way.. Which we believe has failed in the current Educational System. Promises of School Councillors which never appeared, extra support which never happened....)

So, do not worry about Grades.. We have so much fun ahead of us... Your Cooking skills are just incredible, the way you always check to see if im OK and they way you try your hardest to tolerate all the noise in the house and the general disruption that comes with another little person who has ASD...

Look ahead to Airshows, Holidays, your wonderful Volunteering Job which you absolutely love and keep growing in ways that do not involve Grades, Anxiety and being told that you will fail..

You have succeeded in ways that no-one else understands..

The one where the woman halves dates, squashes them down, spreads them with Peanut Butter, Pours over melted chocolate, sprinkles them with Sea Salt and puts them in freezer...

It comes in many forms, sneeks up on you and steels the hours from your day...

No ones Anxiety is any worse than the next person's.. It can be about the smallest of things that just feel so HUGE and overwhelming..

My triggers are Blood Tests, Dentists and Bridges..

Today was the turn of the Dentist..

Yesterday was totally ruined knowing what was coming and I got so annoyed with myself for allowing the day to be wasted because im in a state of being stuck and terrified...

I went for a filling but ended up having one with Anesthetic and one without...

All over in 20mins...

And I got a sticker for being so good 👍 😌 ✨️🌟

Next it's the turn of the dreaded Blood Test in a couple of weeks...

But for now, im unwinding, de-stressing and being quietly proud of myself..
