🎄✨ Tomorrow is Christmas jumper day. Make the world better with a sweater!
Join millions across the UK for Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day. It’s simple, fun, and makes a real difference:
🧶 How to take part:
• Wear your most festive (or fabulously silly!) Christmas jumper
• Donate £2 (or whatever you can) to Save the Children
• Encourage friends, family, and colleagues to join in
💡 Why it matters:
Every pound raised helps children in the UK and around the world stay safe, healthy, and learning. Last year, your jumpers helped fund school meals, baby kits, and emergency supplies for families in crisis.
🌍 This year, let’s go even bigger! Wear it loud, wear it proud and if you can, choose pre-loved or upcycled jumpers to keep it eco-friendly.
📢 Sign up or donate here: savethechildren.org.uk/christmas-jumper-day
Let’s spread joy, laughter, and hope, one jumper at a time.
Together, we can change children’s futures for good.

This December, we’re swapping razors for a cause, it’s Decembeard, and we’re growing facial hair to raise awareness and funds for bowel cancer.
🧔 Bowel cancer is the second biggest cancer killer in the UK, but it’s treatable and beatable especially when caught early.
💡 Decembeard is all about:
• Starting conversations
• Raising awareness of symptoms
• Supporting life-saving research
• Encouraging early screening and diagnosis
👉 Whether you grow a beard, donate, or simply share this message, you’re helping save lives.
📣 Get involved:
✅ Grow a beard
✅ Fundraise or donate to a bowel cancer charity
✅ Share your story or support someone else's
✅ Learn the symptoms: bleeding, changes in bowel habits, unexplained weight loss
Let’s make every beard count this December.
Grow it. Show it. Know it.

🕯️ National Grief Awareness Week
Grief touches every life, yet it’s often hidden, misunderstood, or met with silence. This week, we come together to shine a light on grief, break the stigma, and support those navigating loss.
💬 Why this matters:
• Grief is a natural response to losing someone we love
• There’s no “right” way to grieve, it’s unique for everyone
• Many people feel isolated or unsure where to turn for help
🌱 This year’s theme, “Growing with Grief”, reminds us that while loss changes us forever, hope and resilience can grow from pain. Planting seeds in memory of loved ones is one way to honour them and nurture healing.
✅ How you can take part:
• Share your story or listen to someone else’s
• Plant a seed or light a candle at 6pm on 8 December to remember those we’ve lost
• Wear orange or join local “Walk and Talk” events
💡 If you’re struggling, you’re not alone. Help is available, speak to your GP or visit https://www.thegoodgrieftrust.org/ngaw/ for resources and support.
Let’s make grief visible. Let’s make compassion louder.

The theme of the International Day of Disabled Persons 2025 is “Fostering Disability Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress“.
Today we celebrate the strength, diversity, and rights of people with disabilities, and we also shine a light on the work still to be done.
🧠 People with learning disabilities face some of the greatest health inequalities in our communities. On average, they die 20 - 25 years earlier than the general population, often from preventable causes.
That’s why Annual Health Checks for people aged 14+ on the learning disability register are so important.
✅ These checks help:
• Spot health issues early
• Make care more accessible
• Support better long-term outcomes
• Reduce avoidable deaths
💬 In practice, this means:
• Making sure eligible patients are identified
• Offering appointments with reasonable adjustments
• Listening to individuals and their carers
• Making every check count
📞 If you or someone you care for is eligible, contact your GP practice today to book an Annual Health Check.
It’s free, it’s important and it could save a life.
Let’s make inclusion more than a word, let’s make it visible in our healthcare systems.

❤️ World AIDS Day: Let Communities Lead
Today we honour the lives lost, celebrate the progress made, and recommit to ending HIV/AIDS for good.
🌍 Over 39 million people worldwide are living with HIV. While treatment has come a long way, stigma and inequality still stand in the way of progress.
💬 This year’s theme “Let Communities Lead” reminds us that real change happens when we empower those most affected to shape the response.
✅ What you can do:
• Learn the facts about HIV and challenge myths
• Support local organisations and charities
• Get tested and know your status
• Speak up against stigma and discrimination
• Wear a red ribbon to show your support
📣 Together, we can build a future where no one is left behind. Let’s stand in solidarity, raise our voices, and take action.

💜 Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Week
This week, we shine a light on Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis - two forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) that affect over 500,000 people in the UK. These are invisible illnesses that bring daily challenges: pain, fatigue, hospital visits, and the emotional toll of living with uncertainty.
💡 Why this matters:
• Crohn’s and Colitis are lifelong conditions with no cure
• Symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhoea, weight loss, and extreme tiredness
• They can impact mental health, work, education, and social life
• Early diagnosis and support make a huge difference
✅ How you can support this week:
• Start the conversation - help break the stigma around IBD
• Share your story or listen to others to build understanding
• Learn the signs and encourage early medical advice
• Together, we can make the invisible visible. Let’s show compassion, raise awareness, and support those living with Crohn’s and Colitis.
• Speak to your GP or visit https://crohnsandcolitis.org.uk/ for help, support and advice.
