May is Coeliac Awareness Month.
Coeliac disease is a lifelong autoimmune condition where the body reacts to gluten. It can cause a wide range of symptoms, from tummy pain and bloating to fatigue, weight loss, and skin problems. Many people live with symptoms for years before getting a diagnosis.
If you think you might have coeliac disease, it’s important not to remove gluten from your diet until you’ve spoken to a healthcare professional, as this can affect test results.
Reliable information and support are available here:
NHS – Coeliac disease symptoms, testing and treatment
https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coeliac-disease/
NHS – Gluten‑free diet guidance

Raising awareness helps more people get diagnosed sooner and feel better faster.

May is Stroke Awareness Month.
You can spot the main signs of a stroke by remembering FAST:
Face – Has one side dropped? The person might not be able to smile, or their eye or mouth may look uneven.
Arms – Can they lift both arms and keep them up? One arm may feel weak or numb.
Speech – Is their speech slurred, unclear, or are they unable to speak? They might also struggle to understand what you’re saying.
Time – If you notice any of these signs, call 999 straight away.
Knowing FAST can save a life.

Today is On your Feet Britain today – time to get moving!
"Get up offa that thing"
Research shows that regular movement throughout the day leads to
• Better physical and mental health
• Increased motivation
• Improved concentration
• And many, many more wellbeing and performance benefits

Top tips for office workers- Make some simple changes - it’s easier than you think:
• Stand during phone calls
• Stand and take a break from your computer every 30 minutes
• Use the stairs more
• Arrange standing or walking meetings
• Eat your lunch away from your desk
• Walk to a colleague's desk instead of phoning or emailing them
• Stand at the back of the room during presentations
On Your Feet Britain® - is your chance to get the ball rolling and encourage your employees, co-workers or even your boss to take a stand. Team up with colleagues and see how much you can reduce your “sitting time”.

📲 You can now get your bowel cancer screening invite on the NHS App.
Bowel cancer screening helps spot the early signs of bowel cancer, often before you notice any symptoms.
Who’s eligible?
In England, bowel cancer screening is offered every 2 years to people aged 60 to 74.
The NHS is also gradually inviting people aged 50 to 59, so if you’re in this age group, you may be invited now or soon.
If you’re eligible, you can now choose to receive your screening invitation through the NHS App, instead of by post. It’s quick, secure, and easy to use.
Download the NHS App:

📲You can now get cervical screening results on the NHS App.
If you’ve had a cervical screening test, your results may be sent to you through the NHS App.
If your result is normal:
You’ll receive a secure message in the NHS App letting you know your result. There’s no need to wait for a letter in the post.
If your result is abnormal:
You’ll still receive a letter by post. This will explain your result in more detail and tell you what will happen next.
Not all results appear instantly, and the NHS will always contact you in the right way if any follow up is needed.
