After five wonderful years serving our community, it is with a heavy heart that I share the news that Health Pod will be closing at the end of this month.

It has been an absolute privilege to work within the local area and to care for so many patients over the years. I am incredibly grateful for the trust, kindness, and support you have shown throughout this journey.

This has not been an easy decision, and while I am deeply saddened to be closing our doors, I must now prioritise my family and personal health.

Right now, kidney disease causes more deaths every year than breast cancer or prostate cancer, yet there is often a lack of awareness of a condition that affects 10% of the UK population.

In support of Kidney Care UK's campaign, our colleagues will be in the concourse at University Hospital Wales on 12 March - World Kidney Day - to help people assess their risk of kidney disease.

Colleagues from the Renal Network and the Wales Kidney Research Unit will be around to answer your questions and will have leaflets on how to keep kidneys healthy and what to do if you are identified as having a higher risk of kidney disease. We’ll also be joined by representatives from Kidney Care UK and Kidney Wales charities.

The Scottish Branches Network is thrilled to announce Dr Charlotte Holley as a speaker for the 2026 conference! As the Clinical Lead for Children's Podiatry at Cardiff and Vale NHS health board, Dr Holley holds a Virology degree, a PhD in Wound Microbiology, and a degree in Podiatry. She is dedicated to prevention and early intervention, focusing on addressing developmental issues before they become chronic conditions in adulthood.

We are often asked where we are. HealthPod is located on Pontyclun high street. We provide solutions for your health (Podiatry/Physiotherapy/ Occupational health) in Pontyclun and it's thriving due to our local amazing providers so there is something for everyone when they visit Pontyclun. From the opticians to the deli, the art gallery to TTE coffee, butchers to gifts at the Grey Hare, restaurants covering everyone's taste and budget to the yarn shop, pubs/bars to beauty, barbers to post office, sandwiches to flowers, chips to haircuts, charity and solicitors lots more. We love being part of the providers in Pontyclun.
