Bank Holiday Closure – 25th August 2025
Due to Bank Holiday the Practice will be closed on Monday 25th August. We will reopen Tuesday 26th August. During this time if you have a medical emergency, please call 999. If you have a medical concern that cannot wait until Tuesday 26th August please call GP out of hours on 111. Please remember you can use any pharmacy for access to advice for common ailments. Please note this service will not have access to your medical records and will not be able to issue repeat prescriptions.

HALF DAY CLOSURE - STAFF TRAINING
Due to staff training the Practice will be closed on Tuesday 24th June from 1pm onwards (Llangeinor and Bettws 12.30pm). We will reopen at 8.00am on Wednesday 25th June.
During closure time if you have a medical emergency, please call 999. If you have a medical concern that cannot wait until Wednesday 25th June, please call the usual surgery number and an alternative number will be available to our GP cover. You can call GP out of hours from 6.30pm on 111. Please remember you can use any pharmacy for access to advice for common ailments. Please note this service will not have access to your medical records and will not be able to issue repeat prescriptions.

Important Patient Announcement: Weight Loss Injections.

We are aware that NHS England has now launched the rollout of the weight loss injections as part of their treatment offerings. However, we would like to inform our patients that this rollout does not currently apply to Wales.

At present, GPs in Wales are not authorised to prescribe weight loss injections under NHS guidance. We understand this may be disappointing news for some, we will continue to monitor updates closely.

Are you planning a summer holiday?
A few things to remember;

Please order your repeat prescription in plenty of time to ensure an adequate supply whilst you are away.

We no longer prescribe medication such as Diazepam for flying, Diazepam, a common sedative, is not generally recommended for flying, including for anxiety, and is not routinely prescribed by the NHS. While diazepam can help with anxiety, its use during a flight poses risks. It can cause drowsiness and impair reaction times, potentially putting yourself and others at risk in an emergency. Additionally, diazepam can interfere with natural sleep patterns, increasing the risk of blood clots.

A routine appointment must be booked for medication to delay a menstrual period whilst on holiday, we no longer offer this service on a same day appointment, please plan ahead if you have a holiday booked, our current wait time for a routine GP appointment is 6-8 weeks.
Medication to delay menstruation can also be widely obtained online through an online pharmacy and delivered directly to your home if you are in need of an urgent solution.

We are experiencing technical issues with our Healthera App, prescriptions ordered via the app may take longer to process, alternative methods to order your repeat prescriptions are:
