New chill & chat starting soon!

Chill and Chat is a programme co-produced by young people, parents, Bron Afon & Happy Kids Wales. This unique programme is designed to help young people 12-17 understand their emotions, learning useful coping strategies and skills to increase their resilience to cope better with life's challenges. This project is funded under our Helping Working Families Big Lottery Fund and is therefore only available to families living in Torfaen with at least one member of the household in employment.

Our pilot programme worked with 8 young people and their parents to trial the ideas and workshops created in co-production. With this being a huge success, we are now ready to offer another programme, increased from 6 to 8 weeks starting on Wednesday 11th October 5-6pm at Bron Afon Community Housing Offices in Llantarnam.

Over this 8-week programme we will cover;

Week 1 – Introduction to the course for young people and their parents.

Week 2 – What is behind the mask – Young person only session.

Week 3 – Being a young person – Young person only session.

Week 4 – How do we really chill out? - Young person only session.


Week 5 – Feelings Vs Behaviours – Young Person only session.

Week 6 – Toxic and Tolerable stress – Young person only session.


Week 7 – Healthy Relationships – Young Person only session.


Week 8 – Parents Toolbox Session – Parent Only
