What a difference a day makes!

From rigid plastic collar 24/7 to soft foam collar that I take off whenever I want to! 🎉

I'm so grateful for this progress in the middle of a heatwave! 🔥

It was fabulous to sleep without anything wrapped around my neck last night 😍

Now I just have to be good and make sure I don't get carried away with my new freedom and overdo things 🙈

I'm sure my wonderful wife will keep her beady eye on me and make sure I'm sensible 😜

It's gone! Yippee! Instead of the rigid plastic collar I now have a soft collar that I can take off whenever I want 🎉🎉

I can put my hair up to keep cool too. The old rigid collar came too far up the back of my head for this.

Looking forward to sleeping without it tonight.

One more check up in 2 weeks and then I should be signed off.

There's light at the end of the tunnel!

Today is Celebration of Life day.

So, today I'm celebrating my life through my gratitude for my fabulous parents.

This photo was taken in 1986 when we celebrated my dad's life on his 50th birthday with a canal boat trip. As you can see it was a day filled with fun, laughter and love.

Today marks 32 years of his death. Even though we said goodbye to him when he was way too young I will be forever grateful and celebrate that he was my dad. I celebrate because he was kind, generous and hard working, and because he taught me how to be all those things and so much more.

My mum was also an incredible lady. Strong, uncomplaining and funny are just a few ways I would describe her.

So much of who I am today is down to these incredible humans.

So yes, I am celebrating life today. The lives of those who have helped to shape me and I'm also celebrating my life and all that I am too.
