Take a look at these pictures. The second one is me at the start of my journey, only just over a month ago.

The first is today

What do you see? I see subtle changes in how I look, how I present myself, a glow.

What's changed? I shed my skin, I shed the doubt, the shame the guilt. I acknowledged the trauma, I acknowledged all the previous Jades before me. I learnt to love myself, I learnt to trust myself...

YOU CAN DO IT TOO! I am open and abundant, I am giving and receiving, I am learning to love. I feel like a different upgraded version of myself- and I AM.

I may not be desirable by societies standards. My body, my face, my values and beliefs.

But look at this. My body birthed that incredible little boy, it has handled trauma after trauma and blow after blow, yet it still functions, it still serves me, its fu***ng beautiful.

My face is pure comfort to that incredible human, he sees me and he sees safety, home, love. My face is the home of my smile, and I have so much to smile about.

My values and beliefs have been an unwavering foundation to teach this little legend, believe in yourself, love yourself, be kind, know your worth. Teaching those to him, has taught me, I am just as valid, I do believe, I do love myself, I am kind and I am worthy.

So my life may not have been what I envisioned this far. I'm not where I thought I wanted to be, but I'm on the path I want to be.

And quite frankly, its fu***ng beautiful, and so am I. I'm grateful to her, I'm grateful to Jade for getting us this far.

And I hope, this little love of mine, learns this lesson quicker than me, and if not... I'll be right next to you alongside your path 🥰

Part of my journey I want to share with you. For so long my identify consisted of being a nurse, and being a single mom. I lived for my work because it helped my confidence, it made me feel capable. I lived for my son because having him in my life is such a blessing and my love for him is limitless.

Something I've learnt very recently, and it was a massive wake up call. I can not live for anything or anyone other than ME. I've changed my mindset, I'm doing things for me. I've allowed myself to shed the shame and guilt for needing to be me. And to be alone.

Want to know the result... my relationship with work has changed. I work to live, I'm finding new ways of working that serve me. I am feeling accomplished and calm. And my son? Our relationship has completely changed. I have found patience and understanding where I couldn't before. I have experienced boundless love on and entirely different level and it's beautiful. By choosing me, I have chosen him. He loves this new mumma.

I CHOSE TO LOVE MYSELF BEFORE ANYONE ELSE and the difference is incomparable.
