Chiropractor Ben is back from another intense weekend of neuroscience study in Amsterdam!

This weekend was all about the autonomic nervous system (the part of our nervous system that deals with many of our vital functions, automatically)🫀🫁 as well spotting conditions related to blood supply to the brain.

Yesterday, our chiropractor Ben .ben completed his first trail 24km (just over a half marathon) along the Jurassic Coast with Maverick Races

After years in competitive gymnastics, he was looking for a challenge on the opposite end of the spectrum, swapping 9 seconds of explosive tumbling for endurance.

Having helped many runners return to doing what they love, it felt right for Ben to apply the same principles to his own training and live what we teach at Optimum Chiropractic: that the body is adaptable, and with the right plan, capable of far more than we think.

Three weeks out from a half marathon, our Chiropractor Ben hurt his Achilles. Even the best plans can hit a bump.

From a high risk of falling to a 37% improvement in agility in just 4 weeks! 💪

We are so proud to share the inspiring story of this patient. Just one month ago, a fear of falling and significant knee pain made everyday tasks a huge challenge.

After starting a personalised programme, her ‘Timed Up and Go’ test time (a key measure of mobility, balance, speed, and fall risk) dropped from 23.5 seconds to just 14.7 seconds!

This is just beginning. Although she now has the ability to get in and out of the bath unaided and the confidence to walk short distances without a stick, we know she can go so much further still and regain even more life.

Our Chiropractor, Ben, was back in Amsterdam this weekend for more clinical neuroscience training!

With a special focus on the cranial nerves (nerves from the base of the brain) and eye movements.

There was an even a special guest visit from a neuro-optometrist looking at vision training 👁️ 🧠

This 1.5-year journey with the is just getting started, and each module continues to build on its exciting foundations.

This weekend was packed with practical clinical applications around the spinal cord and peripheral nerves, all with the goal of helping us help you more effectively.

Ben’s committed to bringing this knowledge straight back into the clinic, refining the way we assess and manage pain, neurological complaints and performance.
