Our Monday minibus outings are always a hit, and this week was no exception!

We began our trip with a stop at Ham Common, where everyone took in the beautiful views. Mary and Barry even hopped off the bus to enjoy the scenery and some fresh air.

Next, we headed to Poole Park for the much-anticipated ice cream stop!

We had a wonderful time out and about on the minibus recently, enjoying both morning and afternoon adventures to different local spots.

In the morning, we visited the scenic Sandbanks Ferry. Wendy and John chose to step off the bus and settle onto a bench, binoculars in hand, to take in the view. They were treated to the sight of numerous boats gliding by.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon, Chris and Mary enjoyed a gentle stroll through Poole Park.

It was a truly delightful day, filled with fresh air, nature, and good company — a wholesome outing enjoyed by all!

We recently had an intense Scrabble showdown with our sister home, Amberwood House Care Home. Both homes have lots of residents who love the game, so a minibus trip to Ferndown was in order.

This trip was Mary and Rosemary’s first time at Amberwood, and their opinions of the home were glowing; made even better by their victory! 🏆

Scrabble is a firm favourite among the residents at Bourne View.

Our first floor café, The Cotton Club, is the perfect place to escape the July heat and enjoy a game.

We were recently joined by a few Scrabble pros, but also some new faces, such as Harold and Kathleen.

They wasted no time winning the board, however!

We recently visited our local Haskins Garden Centre 🐝🪴

Janet, Joyce, and Michael enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the stunning garden section, taking in the vibrant displays and seasonal blooms.

After exploring, we treated ourselves to a well-deserved break in the café, where we sipped hot drinks and indulged in delicious cake. Before heading home, Michael picked up some flower seeds, eager to add a touch of Haskins’ charm to our own garden.

We began the day with a lively Music and Movement session, joined by Abner from Canford Chase 🎶

Residents sang along to favourites like Hey Jude, Daisy, Daisy, and You Are My Sunshine — a wonderful way to lift spirits before lunch. Abner also treated us to a calming rendition of Canon, which created a peaceful moment of quiet reflection.

Rita had a wonderful birthday 🎉🎁

She enjoyed a bit of pampering with a fresh new hairstyle and a nail trim and shape, all thanks to our talented beautician, Nicola.

One of the highlights was when everyone gathered to sing Happy Birthday. and being a big fan of chocolate, she was thrilled with the beautiful chocolate cake lovingly made by our chefs 🎂

Sun, Sea… and a Lot of Laughter! ☀🍦

Michael had always wanted to visit Boscombe Beach, so our companionship team made it happen, and invited his friends Mary, Wendy, and John along for the ride!

Despite the blustery British weather, the sun made an appearance and the group headed to the pier, ice creams in hand. As they watched brave swimmers dive into the sea, Michael took a big bite of his whipped ice cream… and ended up wearing most of it! 😄

Lots of laughter followed, a perfect moment shared between good friends.

We recently enjoyed a Musical Bingo Singalong. Jean was feeling especially musical, singing almost every song and stating the song’s title with accuracy and speed 🎤🎶

Even Kelly, one of our carers, joined in on the fun, encouraging the residents to sing and dance, which lead to Jean singing at the top of her lungs.
