LiveWell Dorset will be delivering free NHS health checks at Kinson Library on 2 February and 16 February, 2026 🙂 If you've already been invited for an NHS Health Check by your GP or pharmacy, please do take up the offer and book your appointment with them.

An NHS health check is a free checkup on your cardiovascular health and can spot early signs of diabetes, heart disease or stroke.

If you are aged 40-74, do not have an existing cardiovascular condition, and have not had an NHS Health Check in the last 5 years- you could be eligible for a health check with LiveWell Dorset. Children under 6 on 1st January 2026 will now be offered the MMRV (measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox) vaccine as part of the NHS childhood vaccination programme.
The MMR vaccine is still available for adults and older children born on or before 31 December 2019 who were not vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella when they were younger.

New NHS data shows a rise in winter virus cases – including flu – in hospitals last week. Flu can be serious, especially for those at higher risk.

Flu vaccines don’t stop everyone from catching flu, but they do reduce the risk of becoming seriously unwell, needing hospital care or developing complications – especially for older adults and those with health conditions.
