"I know I need to improve my posture!"🪑
I hear this so often. People tell me they have "terrible posture" or that they’ve spent a fortune getting their desk and chair set to the "right height", yet they’re still in pain.
The truth is, your posture isn't the problem. The issue is usually duration.
Think of it as load vs. capacity. Even a "perfect" sitting position becomes a heavy load if you stay there for hours. If you’re twisted between two screens, you’re loading specific tissues in one direction for too long, and eventually, your system sends a "nudge" (that ache) to tell you it's reaching its limit.
I always think of the quote: "If you don't like where you are, move. You are not a tree."
What to do instead of trying to be "perfect":
🔷 The best posture is your next posture.
🔷Have a good wiggle. Move your spine in any direction that feels good.
🔷Shoulder resets. Roll them up, down, back, and forward.
🔷Listen to the nudge. That ache isn't a sign you're broken; it's just a request for movement.
Frequent micro-breaks are much more effective than any "perfect" chair.
If you’re feeling stuck or sensitive from your desk setup, massage and movement therapy can help reset that tension so you can get back to moving comfortably.
