During the course, you will develop the knowledge and skills required to:

- Recognise and manage the deteriorating patient using a structured ABCDE approach;
- Deliver standardised CPR in adults;
- Manage a cardiac arrest by working with a multidisciplinary team in an emergency situation;
- Become an effective and confident team member and leader by utilising non-technical skills.

In England, from 13th June, if you live by yourself or are a single parent with dependent children – in other words, if there is only one adult in your home – you can expand your support network so that it includes one other household of any size. This is called making a ‘support bubble’ and means you are able to meet indoors or out, be less than 2 metres apart and stay overnight as you could if they were members of your own household.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has changed its advice on face masks, saying that they should be worn in public to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

Dr Van Kerkhove said "We are advising governments to encourage that the general public wear a mask."

At the same time, the WHO stressed that face masks were just one of a range of tools that could be used to reduce the risk of transmission - and that they should not give people a false sense of protection.

Wear a mask, wash your hands and stay 2m apart!

The UK Government announced yesterday that face coverings will be compulsory on all public transport for most of us from 15th June. Here is a great little video from the BBC about wearing face coverings.

Wearing face coverings will be compulsory on public transport in England from 15th June. This includes on buses, trains, aircraft and ferries. Very young children, disabled people and those with breathing difficulties will be exempt.
