Time To Say Goodbye 🫶🏼

After twelve remarkable years in the salon and hair loss industry, I find myself at a bittersweet moment as I have sold the salon 💇‍♀️ : it’s time to bid farewell. As I reflect on this journey, I am filled with gratitude for each and every one of you who has been a part of it.

Your unwavering support and loyalty have been nothing short of incredible. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting me and my team with your hair care needs.

While it’s time for me to remove my name from the door of the Westbourne salon, please know that this is not a goodbye, but rather a new beginning. I am excited to announce that I will be continuing my journey with my supplement company, Simone Thomas Wellness, alongside my dedicated wellness team.

I want to assure you that the Westbourne Salon is in excellent hands under the leadership of Kim and William Guy. With William at the helm, the salon will continue to thrive and serve the community with the same dedication and excellence you’ve come to expect.

Heading Off On Your Holiday? Here’s Some Top Tips To Protect Your Hair Against Chlorine 💧

Chlorine can strip your hair of its natural sebum, drying it out and leaving it frizzy. This can ultimately lead to hair brittleness and breakage. If you have blonde hair you might want to be particularly cautious when swimming in a pool as it can result in your hair turning green!

So we’ve established that chlorine is bad news for hair, but what can you do? Thankfully there are several simple steps you can take to protect your hair against chlorine:

👉🏼 Soak your hair in fresh water before swimming - this makes it less absorbent when you dive in
👉🏼 Use a swimming cap
👉🏼 Create an oil barrier - try using nourishing coconut or olive oil
👉🏼 Apply conditioner before swimming
👉🏼 After swimming, use a clarifying shampoo such as SOLU from Davines
👉🏼 Dry your hair gently and use a leave in conditioner or mask

Did You Know It’s Important To Change Your Haircare With The Season? 🌿

We all know that we need to adapt our skin care routine as the seasons change, adding SPF or a heavier moisturiser, but the same goes for your hair.

As the weather brightens up during the spring and summer months, your hair colour may start to fade in the sun, so you'll need to protect it from the UV rays with an SPF spray. It would also benefit from a deep conditioning treatment, such as one of the Davines Circles.. You may find your scalp and hair get greasier in hot, humid weather so you'll need to adjust your shampoo. Conversely, in the winter months the cold wind outside coupled with central heated homes can leave your hair dry with split ends.
