How Stress Affects the Body?

Stress triggers the release of cortisol, a hormone that activates the "fight or flight" response, preparing the body for a perceived threat. This response raises heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing. It also causes the release of adrenaline and other stress hormones, leading to physical symptoms like headaches, muscle tension, fatigue, digestive issues, sleep disturbances, appetite changes, and increased vulnerability to illness. Chronic stress can contribute to serious conditions like high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes. Long-term stress can also negatively affect mental health, leading to anxiety, depression, and burnout.

Back to Movement is a 10-week guided movement course designed to improve mobility, balance, and confidence for people who want to look after their backs and move more comfortably in everyday life.

This is not a fitness class and not rehabilition it’s a practical, supportive movement programme combining gentle mobilisation, balance training, and functional movement exercises.

The aim is simple: help you move better, feel more stable, and build confidence in your body again.

The course is led by Jason Croucher, Sports Massage Therapist and movement specialist at Parkstone Chiropractic & Wellness, bringing years of clinical experience helping people move comfortably and confidently again.

⁠Ideal if you:
💚experience back stiffness or recurring discomfort
💚are returning to activity after injury
💚want to improve balance and movement confidence
💚feel unsure what exercises are right for your back
💚prefer small, supportive group sessions.⁠

Kaiako Studio, Ashley Road 📅 Starting Friday 10th April, 10.30am - 11.30am 💷 £90 for 10 weeks.

Group size is intentionally limited to just six participants to allow for personalised guidance throughout the course.
