🌍🧵 Celebrating World Embroidery Day at Marjorie House 🧵🌍

We were delighted to welcome residents and staff from Talbot View Home to Marjorie House for a special lunch and an inspiring embroidery talk by our talented volunteer, Rosemary.

Guests enjoyed a warm welcome tour of Marjorie House, followed by teas and coffees in the Captain’s Club, where everyone could relax and get to know one another. Conversations flowed beautifully over lunch, creating a lovely atmosphere of connection and shared stories.

A big thank you to Rosemary, who brought along a stunning selection of her embroidery work. Her passion and skill were truly inspiring as she shared the art and joy of embroidery with us all.

✨ What a Fantastic Evening at Marjorie House! ✨

We had a wonderful evening hosted by Marjorie House for Care South, featuring an insightful presentation by Blue Sky on financial planning for care.

The session was informative and reassuring. It addressed some of the difficult but essential questions that many have about moving into a care home. Blue Sky offered valuable guidance on how they can support individuals and families with financial planning for the future.

📍 Holme Farm Garden Centre Outing 🌿☕
Our residents had a lovely trip to Holme Farm Garden Centre this week!

They enjoyed a warm drink while sharing stories about their gardening adventures. Graham reminisced about the days he spent running his garden centre and nurseries — such wonderful memories.

A friendly cat took a shine to Myrna and made itself comfortable right by her feet. 🐾
Later, we visited the pond and were delighted when the fish swam to greet us. 🐟✨

🚤 A Lovely Afternoon at Marjorie House!

We had the pleasure of welcoming David Richmond-Coggan, Chairman of the Christchurch & Bournemouth RNLI Branch, for a fascinating talk on the history and vital work of the RNLI. 🌊

Our residents and guests enjoyed the afternoon, asking great questions and learning more about this incredible lifesaving charity.

Thank you to Patrick, our excellent Chef, for baking delicious cakes, which helped us raise £90 for the RNLI! 🎂💙

We’re proud to support the RNLI as our Charity of the Year and are excited about more fundraising events!

🎉 Marjorie House Summer Fayre 🎉

What an incredible afternoon we had at our Summer Fayre! ☀️🎶

We started with a brilliant performance from the amazing John Springett Music, who had everyone smiling and singing along. 🎤💃

Then came a show-stopping performance by the talented dancers from Steppin’ Out Academy, fresh from competing for Great Britain in the World Cup Competition — phenomenal! 🇬🇧🏆

A massive shoutout to our chef, Patrick, for putting on a delicious BBQ 🍔🌭, and to everyone who came to enjoy the stalls and games. Our fabulous activities team ran a Tombola and Raffle, raising money to support the RNLI. 🚤💙

Thanks to everyone who helped make this day memorable, especially our amazing activities team and star performers. Our residents had a fantastic time! 🥰🙌

🐍🧶 Wonderful Wednesday at Marjorie House!🧶🐍

Yesterday morning, we slithered into fun as we celebrated World Snake Day in the Captain’s Club! 🐍 Residents got creative with some snake-themed arts and crafts, followed by fascinating snake facts from around the world, did you know there are over 3,000 species of snakes? 😲 We ended with a snake quiz, and our residents impressed us with their excellent knowledge! 🧠🎉

Then, it was time for our weekly Welcome Wednesday Knit & Knatter in the afternoon. 🧶💬 We were delighted to be joined by lovely ladies from the Church of the Transfiguration, and together with our residents, we enjoyed an afternoon of knitting, riddles, laughter, and great conversation. 🥰

A day full of creativity, learning, and community! ❤️🐍🧶

☀️ A Morning Well Spent at Baiter Park & Poole Quay! 🚤🌊

What a beautiful morning it was! Our residents enjoyed a lovely walk from Baiter Park to Poole Quay, enjoying the sunshine and gentle sea breeze. 🌬️

We had some great chats with people along the way and spent time relaxing by the harbour, watching the boats come and go. It was the perfect mix of fresh air, good company, and stunning views. 💬🛥️

A big thank you to everyone who made it such a special outing — days like these are what memories are made of! 💛
