🌊🐧 Our First Trip of the Year! 🐧🌊

Three of our residents enjoyed a fantastic day out at Bournemouth Oceanarium, with lots of excitement and smiles all round! Everyone loved seeing the penguins, a crocodile, sharks, a ginormous turtle, a huge lobster, otters, stingrays, and so much more.

Afterwards, we took a relaxing stroll along the seafront to enjoy the beautiful views. The day was filled with laughter, happiness, shared memories, a lovely lunch, and a safe return to Marjorie House 💙

✨ New Year’s Eve at Marjorie House! ✨

Our residents gathered in the Captain’s Club to reflect on a wonderful year together. With a photo album on the TV, we revisited special memories, shared lots of laughter, sang along to our favorite tunes, and ended the afternoon with a joyful toast to a happy and prosperous New Year! 🥂🎉

Once a week at Marjorie House, our staff and activities team come together to deliver Namaste for Dementia. These gentle sessions focus on sensory activities that engage sight, sound, touch, and smell. Residents are treated to calming music, soothing aromatherapy, relaxing foot spas, and comforting hand and foot massages.

The peaceful atmosphere promotes relaxation, connection, and well-being. Residents truly enjoy this special time of calm, care, and comfort. 💛

🎄 Christmas Day Service at Marjorie House 🎄

On Christmas Day morning, residents gathered on the ground floor to attend a special church service led by Rev’d Chris Colledge MBE BCA. It was a truly meaningful and uplifting start to the day, with residents and family members coming together to celebrate the spirit of Christmas.

Everyone enjoyed singing well-loved Christmas carols, filling the room with a warm and festive atmosphere. After the service, residents returned upstairs to relax before sitting down together to enjoy a delicious Christmas lunch.

🎄 Christmas Tree Festival Visit 🎄

Our wonderful residents enjoyed a lovely visit to St Aldhelm's, Branksome for their Christmas Tree Festival. There was a wide range of beautifully decorated trees on display, each one unique and full of festive charm.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the morning, taking time to admire the decorations and soak up the Christmas atmosphere. We finished our outing with a relaxing coffee before heading back to Marjorie House, rounding off a delightful morning together.

🎄☕ Our residents had a fantastic time visiting Vitality Stadium for the annual AFC Bournemouth Coffee Morning! It was a wonderful opportunity to meet residents from other Care South Dorset homes, as well as chat to the AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust team.

The morning featured speeches from our CEO, Simon Bird, and Steve Fletcher, a sing-along, and a festive performance of Christmas carols by Pokesdown Community Primary School. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event and the joyful atmosphere.

Residents were joined by members of the local community and the Church of the Transfiguration for a festive evening of Christmas carols. It was a wonderful turnout, with everyone enjoying mulled wine and mince pies. The evening was made extra special by the church’s lovely choir, which led the carol singing. It was a heart-warming celebration of togetherness, spreading festive cheer and Christmas spirit. 🎄✨

It was a lovely morning filled with hot drinks, delicious cakes, and plenty of Christmas cheer. Everyone joined in with a joyful Christmas sing-along, shared lots of laughs, and soaked up the warm, friendly atmosphere. A truly enjoyable outing for all.

Residents gathered in the Captain’s Club for our Hungarian Cultural Afternoon! 🇭🇺

They explored Hungary’s rich history, culture, cities, and cuisine, and enjoyed videos showcasing the country’s stunning landscapes. These cultural events are a wonderful way for residents to learn about the diverse backgrounds of our staff.

The afternoon concluded with a tasting of Hungarian wine and biscuits, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. It was a delightful and engaging afternoon for all!

Our residents gathered in the Captain’s Club yesterday for a fun-filled cheesecake-making afternoon with our Executive Chef, Patrick! 👨‍🍳🍰

Patrick showed everyone how to prepare and decorate their cheesecakes, ready to be served as a special lunchtime dessert. Residents got involved in every step — mixing, shaping, and adding the finishing touches to the topping.

It was a relaxed and enjoyable session, filled with laughter and teamwork, as everyone took part in creating a truly delicious treat. ❤️

What an AMAZING day out at the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum! 🎨✨

Our residents had a fabulous time exploring the breathtaking building and its incredible collection.

The highlight of the day was for one very special resident whose father, the talented Eustace Nash, has his stunning artwork proudly displayed there. 💛
The wonderful staff even took the time to chat with her about her father’s legacy and surprised her with a printed copy of one of his most celebrated pieces, such a heartwarming moment! 🖼️💕

A truly unforgettable trip for everyone! 🌟
