Some of our residents had a wonderful day out at Poole Park this week, enjoying a relaxing walk around the lake and making the most of the lovely weather before it became too hot. 🦆

Everyone loved seeing the adorable baby swans and ducks swimming so close beside us, bringing lots of smiles, conversation, and happy memories throughout the day. Residents enjoyed spending time together in the peaceful surroundings, taking in the beautiful views across the water, enjoying some fresh air and gentle exercise, and even waving to the little train as it made its way around the park!

It was a truly lovely afternoon filled with laughter, wildlife, and great company. 💙

🇬🇧 To celebrate VE Day here at Marjorie House, we welcomed members of the local church for a wonderful afternoon of music, singing, and reminiscing with our residents.

We sang a variety of songs throughout the afternoon, from wartime favourites that brought back special memories to traditional church hymns enjoyed by everyone.

There were plenty of smiles, lots of singing, and some amazing cakes enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon so special ❤️

On the 8th of May, we were delighted to welcome Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra for another exciting visit with us. 🎶 It was a truly special experience for everyone, filled with joy, laughter, and wonderful music.

Residents and staff had great fun joining in with the performance using shakers, keeping rhythm with the musicians, and even having the opportunity to try their hand at conducting! 🎼✨ It was lovely to see everyone so engaged and enjoying the moment together.

We feel incredibly proud to have this amazing partnership with BSO, bringing live music into our homes and creating such meaningful experiences for all. The beautiful pieces performed took us on an emotional journey, making us smile, reflect, and feel uplifted. 💛

We were delighted to welcome the AFC Bournemouth Community Team to our garden recently!

With the sunshine on our side, residents came together for an afternoon filled with fun activities, friendly competition, and great teamwork. There was plenty of laughter throughout, making it a truly memorable day for everyone involved.

It was our first time hosting the team in the garden this year, and it’s safe to say a wonderful time was had by all. We look forward to welcoming them back again soon!

Residents from Marjorie House enjoyed a lovely morning trip to the beach for coffee. Everyone set off in good spirits and spent a relaxed morning by the sea, enjoying a warm drink together as they caught up and shared fond memories of seaside holidays and past visits to the coast.

After coffee, residents took a gentle stroll along the beach, enjoying the fresh sea air, calming sound of the waves, and peaceful surroundings. Some paused to take in the views, while others enjoyed chatting as they walked at a comfortable pace. It was a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy some fresh air, gentle activity, and social time together.

The group then returned to Marjorie House in time for lunch, feeling refreshed and having thoroughly enjoyed their morning outing.

We’re pleased to share that Marjorie House (Care South) is partnering with Forest Holme Hospice Charity and Leonardo Carer Support to host a Bereavement Café in our beautiful Sandbanks location 💙

This important initiative will provide a safe, welcoming space for those experiencing grief to come together and access support within their local community.

The Bereavement Café will take place on the third Monday of each month, starting 18th May, from 10:00am to 11:30am at:

🌅 Sunset Walk at Forest Holme 🌅
We’re feeling incredibly proud of what we achieved together as a community.
On behalf of everyone at Marjorie House, a heartfelt thank you to the amazing team at Forest Holme Hospice Charity for inviting us to be the headline sponsor of their very first Sunset Walk. It really was a privilege to be part of something so special right from the start.
Our staff and residents joined in on the evening, walking, cheering, and really getting behind the spirit of it all. It was lovely to see everyone come together in support of such an important cause.
With over 400 people taking part, the atmosphere on the night was fantastic. Raising over £16,000 (and still growing!) is an incredible achievement and really shows what can happen when a community comes together.
We feel genuinely proud to have played a part in the first-ever Sunset Walk and to have stood alongside such a dedicated and inspiring team. We’re already looking forward to seeing how this event grows in the future.

We were delighted to host our very first public event of the year with our Vintage Car Rally! It was a fantastic afternoon filled with a stunning display of classic cars, live music, and a great selection of stalls for everyone to enjoy.

It was wonderful to see so many guests exploring, socialising, and soaking up the lively atmosphere.

🎉 A Very Special 94th Birthday Celebration 🎉

We were delighted to celebrate a truly wonderful milestone as one of our residents turned 94 years old!

In the afternoon, everyone gathered in the Captain’s Club, where the room was filled with warmth, laughter, and joy. Guests joined together to sing a cheerful “Happy Birthday,” followed by a delightful afternoon tea shared in great company.

The celebration was made even more memorable by a beautiful cake specially prepared by our Executive Chef, Patrick, adding the perfect finishing touch to a very special occasion.

Here’s to treasured moments, shared smiles, and celebrating life’s incredible milestones together 💛
