I urge all parents considering paying for a sleep consult to watch this 👇

It’s an unregulated practice and there is some ridiculously dangerous advice being given out.
These ‘professionals’ call themselves experts but with what background? Qualifications? Specialist knowledge?

Please see the The Lullaby Trust for safe sleep advice and speak to a medical professional about normal infant behaviour regarding sleep.

Baby Dyschezia, never heard of it? Wondering what it is, then read the following 🤓

Snorting, grunting, straining, going red in the face and usually associated with trying to p**p.

Babies struggle to coordinate all the muscles and movements needed to p**p, they are just learning how to do this. Although this can be distressing as a parent to witness and listen too, it’s generally not a problem unless the poo passed is hard*.
No treatment is required for Dyschezia and babies will overcome it.

*if you have concerns please always speak to your GP.

Let’s talk about silicone pumps 🗣️

Silicone pumps are often marketed as passive milk ‘collectors’ but because they suction to the breast, they are actively removing milk from the breast. This is doing more than just collecting what would otherwise be ‘lost’.

Be aware that by using a silicone pumps they can:

• Remove milk your baby needs during a feed

• Contribute to slow weight gain

• Increase the risk of inflammation (‘clogged ducts’) and can potentially lead to more serious complications such as mastitis.

I would recommend collecting leaking milk but not by using one of these 👇
And not at the expense of your baby receiving what they need whilst actively breastfeeding. Find an alternative that does not rely on suction or use a silicone pump for the ‘third breast’, meaning, the first side baby fed from 🤓

Hello,

I’m Emily 🤍

I am an experienced Midwife and Tongue Tie Practitioner.

After having two children with tongue-tie myself, I know how hard feeding can feel. That experience has led me to support newborns and families within their own home though their feeding journey.

I offer calm, compassionate care in your own home, supporting both breastfeeding and bottle feeding. I look at babies and parents holistically, because feeding struggles can happen with any feeding method and everyone deserves support.

I provide tongue-tie assessment, and same day division (as long as safe to do so) with feeding support straight away.

Appointments available same day or within a few days - no long clinic waits.

Feel free to message for more information 💖

Considering exclusively pumping for your baby?

Don’t know where to start?

Pumping 8-10 times in a 24 hour period will help to establish a full milk supply. This includes pumping atleast once overnight too, to capitalise on the hormone that helps milk production because it reaches higher levels during the night.

Did you know that?

Did you also know that measuring your ni***es can help to maximise milk output?

There are lots of tips and tricks to get pumping off to a good start, but knowing where to start helps 👍

If you have any questions or would like more information send me a PM or reach out in the comments 😁
