Let’s talk tech neck! Not sure what it is? Tech neck is a repetitive strain condition caused by bad posture when using your smartphone, leading to increased stress (and discomfort) on the neck and shoulders.

Over time it can take a real toll on the neck and shoulders. Looking down for prolonged periods places increased strain on your muscles, often leading to stiffness, tension and headaches.

A few small changes can make a big difference:
🤳Bring your phone up closer to eye level where possible
📴Take regular breaks to move and reset your posture
🧘🏻‍♀️Gently stretch your neck and shoulders throughout the day

It’s not about eliminating screen time completely (let’s be realistic!), but being more aware of your body. If you’re already noticing discomfort, let this be your sign to get in touch to discuss a treatment plan.

No two bodies are the same, which is why no two treatments should be either.

Every treatment at Aries is tailored to you. Your symptoms, your lifestyle and what your wellbeing goals are.

Our treatments aren’t just about relieving pain in the moment. They’re about understanding why that pain has developed and working with your body to restore balance, movement and harmony throughout.

Our aim is always to help your body work as it should and to support your long term wellbeing.

Most people have experienced a small “niggle”. A slight ache, a bit of tightness, something that feels noticeable but not quite serious enough to act on. It’s very easy to ignore and hope it will go away on its own. Sound familiar? We’re not trying to call you out, promise! 🤗

These minor symptoms are often your body’s early warning signs. When ignored, your body may start to compensate, changing the way you move and placing extra strain on other areas. Over time, this can turn something small and manageable into something more persistent and limiting 😖

Listening to your body early doesn’t mean overreacting, it’s a sign of care and respect for yourself.

With one bank holiday down and one to go this month, it’s very easy to get carried away, whether that’s long days in the garden, tackling jobs around the house, or jumping back into sports a little too enthusiastically. It’s not usually one big movement that causes a problem, but doing more than your body is used to.

If you’re feeling sore, stiff, or tight after your activity, try to keep gently moving rather than stopping completely. Light stretching, short walks and staying hydrated can all help your body recover.

If it doesn’t settle within a few days, or feels more than just general soreness, it’s worth getting it checked. Remember that a small issue caught early is much easier to manage than something that’s been pushed through for weeks 💙

Rest is something we continue to promote here at Aries, when it comes to your wellbeing it’s something that is often overlooked. We understand the stresses of daily life and know it can be hard to prioritise but it really is so important for a healthy life.

It’s easy to think that progress comes from always doing more.. more exercise, more stretching, more pushing through. But in reality, your body does its best healing and adapting during periods of rest.

Rest isn’t a step backwards or lazy. It’s the exact opposite and even a few hours can do you the world of good.

Making space for rest is one of the most important things you can do for your long-term health. If you’ve been feeling run down or stuck, it might be your body asking for you to slow down 👀

Take some time to reflect on how you’re feeling and plan time to rest for the month ahead, yes really! 😁💙

With lighter evenings and warmer weather, many people are getting back into running and cycling, if you’ve been down the beachfront lately you’ll have noticed it’s full of everyone enjoying the spring season.

These hobbies are great for your health, but can also catch your body off guard if you’ve been less active over winter.

The most common injuries we see this time of year tend to come from doing too much, too soon. Your muscles and joints need time to adapt to increased load and repetition.

So how can you prevent this to enjoy your hobbies pain free? Take it easy, build it up gradually. Stretch after each workout. Rest!

Lastly, don’t ignore any small niggles, taking the time to have them looked at can help prevent long term injury.
We’re here when you need us.

Stress isn’t just something you feel mentally, it often shows up physically in ways you might not immediately recognise. When your body is under ongoing stress, it can stay in a heightened “alert” state, which increases muscle tension and reduces your ability to fully relax and recover 😖

It’s more common than you may realise, do any of the following sound familiar?
• Tight shoulders or neck pain
• Frequent headaches (maybe even daily)
• Jaw clenching or teeth grinding
• Lower back discomfort
• A feeling of constant unease

Over time, these patterns can become your body’s “new normal,” even when the original stress has passed. This is where hands-on treatment from your Osteopath, combined with simple lifestyle adjustments, can help release built-up tension and bring your body back into balance 😌

This is something we support clients with daily, you’re not alone and there is a solution. Tap the contact button on our profile to enquire at our Dorset osteopath clinic 📲

The end of another month is drawing in and this is your accountability check-in from the Aries team.

Progress doesn’t usually come from one appointment, it comes from consistency. Every bespoke treatment plan from Aries is designed with a clear goal in mind: reduce pain, restore movement and build resilience so the problem doesn’t keep coming back.

Each session builds on the last, helping your body adapt and respond properly rather than just settling symptoms temporarily.

When appointments are spaced too far apart or exercises aren’t followed through at home, it can slow recovery and sometimes undo the progress we’ve made.

If you’re currently on a treatment plan, consider this your friendly accountability check-in, give us a call today 🤍

From gardening, to coastal walks and dusting off the bike, spring for many of us symbolises more time moving our bodies and more time outside.

After a cold, wet winter you’re absolutely right to feel excited about the seasons ahead but let us remind you to ease back into your spring hobbies to help prevent injury.

After gaps without those movements, your body will need time to adjust back into the motions. Going 0-100 often ends in injury which we’ve no doubt you want to prevent.

So remember, as exciting as it is revisiting the hobbies you love, please be gentle in doing so! 💙
