While spring is just a few weeks away, the weather has been quite chilly recently. For lots of us, this can mean hunching your shoulders. This is an automatic response from your body and nervous system but over time, can cause discomfort.

You might even be doing it now, take a moment to notice your posture and reset your shoulders. 🤗

If you are feeling discomfort from hunching, take some time to do some gentle stretches each day to help release some of the tension. However if your discomfort is past this point, please do contact Aries to enquire for an appointment 📅 💙

It’s common to hope pain will settle on its own and sometimes it does. You might even give yourself a deadline… “It’ll be better next week”😒

However, when discomfort lingers, changes, or keeps returning, it can be a sign that something more is going on. Pain that lasts more than a few weeks, worsens over time, starts to affect your sleep, mood, or daily activities shouldn’t be ignored.

✨Listening to these signals early can help prevent small issues from becoming bigger ones✨

We’ve all listened to a loved one talk about pain or discomfort and suggested they seek support - your body deserves the same care.

Get in touch today to book a consultation with our friendly, experienced practitioners 💙

Why do we treat your body as a whole?

Pain is rarely just about one isolated area. A sore shoulder, stiff back, or recurring headache can often be linked to how the rest of the body is moving and working together. This is exactly why we look at your body as a whole.

Your muscles, joints, nerves and posture are all connected. An issue in one area can place extra strain elsewhere over time, this is why treating only the painful spot doesn’t always give long lasting results you’re looking for.

By looking at the body as a whole, we aim to understand what’s causing those symptoms and sometimes, it’s not just where you feel them. This approach helps address underlying causes and supports better movement and overall balance.

Valentine’s Day is a great reminder that looking after yourself is just as important as looking after others. Our bodies work hard for us every day, often without much thanks, until pain or discomfort starts to get in the way.

Showing your body some love can be as simple as listening to it 👂🤍

That could mean resting when you need to, moving more gently, improving your posture, or addressing those niggles you’ve been ignoring.

Take some time to tune into your body and make sure you’re treating it with the utmost respect and love ❤️

While we’re starting to notice slightly lighter evenings 😁🤸🎉, cold, dark days can make it tempting to move less, but staying mobile in winter is one of the best things you can do for your body. When we’re less active, joints can stiffen, muscles tighten and everyday aches often feel more noticeable.

You don’t need intense workouts to keep moving. Gentle daily habits like short walks, light stretching or mobility exercises at home can help keep joints and muscles healthy.

Even a few minutes at a time makes a difference, especially if you’ve been sitting for long periods.
Try to build movement into your routine where you can, this could look like stretching while the kettle boils or a quick walk at lunchtime.

Remember that consistency matters more than intensity when it comes to long-term wellbeing 🔑💙

Sports injuries don’t just slow you down, they can disrupt your training programme, mobility, confidence and let’s be honest, they can be very frustrating 😖

As your osteopath, we work to identify the root cause of pain, not just the symptoms, using hands-on techniques to improve alignment, reduce inflammation and support faster healing.

By restoring balance to the body and improving how your muscles, joints and tissues move together, osteopathic treatment can help reduce the risk of recurring injuries. We offer bespoke treatments that support better recovery and improved performance.

TMJ is an extremely uncomfortable condition, causing pain around the jaw area. It’s only from suffering with it that you realise just how much you use your jaw.

Did you know that Facial Massage can be a remedy to the pain? During your appointment with Aimee, she’ll work through releasing the tension being stored in your facial muscles.

If it’s your first time trying Facial Massage to relieve the pain, during your consultation before your appointment, you can talk through how long you’ve had it, what the symptoms are and discuss whether a series of treatments might be needed.

DM .me for more information and her next availability 🤍

The cold weather at this time of year can make us drink less without realising but your joints, muscles and energy levels still rely on consistent hydration all year round.

Struggling to sip regular water?

Hot herbal teas, warm lemon water and healthy broths all count. Sip consistently and your body will feel the difference.

You should be aiming for 2l a day, even in the winter months.
