The number of offences involving a knife has risen overall since 2011, according to government statistics - over the past year there has been 49,600 offences recorded.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has called knife crime a "national crisis". Over the past year, 60,000 knives have been either handed over or seized by police as part of a wider government crackdown.

I will be running a Knife Threat Managemnet workshop on Sunday 30th November from Tier1 Martial Arts! ✋

This is open for all abilities and from age 12+

We will be covering: Theory BEFORE the knife is in play DURING the knife being in play AFTER the knife has been in play Improvised Protection Simulation (bridging the gap between training and reality)

Really good example of Improvised Protection! 🪑✋He has situational control, keeping the barrier between him and the attacker and keeping the distance. Only closing the gap when he was down. Isolating the weapon bearing arm/ hand to remove the weapon. ✋

This person is getting alot of views from ‘This Morning’ giving options for self-defence. Not necessarily getting alot of positive comments. She may be able to pull it off but she probably has years of experience. In Combatives we teach principle based self protection that can be learnt quick and be effective against a non- complaint threat before you walk out the door!
