Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate cook to join our small retirement home The ideal candidate will have a background in food preparation and a keen understanding of food safety standards. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly. Work in a family style kitchen, you will manage menus and meals and have the joy of working with older people and have the time and space to create some amazing food without the stress of a restaurant or busy care home
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
Assist in the planning and preparation of meals, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and of high quality.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety guidelines at all times.
Manage your own menu and have the freedom to create what you like
Baking fresh cakes!
Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management as needed.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned after use.
Participate in menu development by providing input on new dishes or improvements to existing recipes.
Requirements
Experience as a Cook or in a similar culinary role within a catering environment.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary skills, and food safety standards.
Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
Flexibility to working shifts, every other weekend
