What quality means to us in homecare
Quality homecare is about more than completing tasks.
It is about how care is delivered, with professionalism, empathy and attention to detail. For us, quality means care that feels personal, reliable and built around each individual. Find out what matters to us at GoodOaks Homecare Bournemouth and Poole.

πΏ Getting out and about again
One of the things we love most at GoodOaks is helping our clients stay connected to the places that mean the world to them.
This week, Nicholas enjoyed a gentle walk around beautiful Coy Pond - a spot filled with memories and calm, leafy views. With the right support, even a short stroll can bring confidence, joy, and a real sense of freedom.
Supporting people to keep doing the things they love, in the places they love, is at the heart of what we do.
Hereβs to fresh air, favourite paths, and the little moments that make life feel good. ππΏ

What is homecare?
Homecare is all about supporting people to live safely, comfortably and independently in their own homes. At GoodOaks, our care professionals provide personalised support that fits around each individualβs routines, preferences and needs, whether that is help with daily tasks, personal care or simply a friendly face and reassurance.
GoodOaks Homecare Bournemouth and Poole provides bespoke visiting and live-in care in Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and surrounding areas.
This morning, our lovely carer Emily enjoyed a peaceful cup of coffee out on 103βyearβold Murielβs balcony - one of Murielβs favourite spots to sit and soak up the sunshine.
These small moments of companionship mean so much. A gentle chat, a warm drink, a bit of fresh airβ¦ itβs often the simplest things that bring the biggest smiles.
Weβre so grateful for carers like Emily who bring kindness, patience, and joy into every visit - and to wonderful clients like Muriel who brighten our days just as much.
Hereβs to sunshine, good company, and the little moments that make life beautiful. π

π A Moment of Sunshine, A Moment of Joy π
Thereβs something incredibly special about seeing our clients out in the fresh air, feeling the warmth on their skin, and simply being part of the world around them. Days like this donβt just happen - theyβre made possible by the compassion, patience, and quiet dedication of our wonderful Care Professionals.
Here is one of our lovely clients enjoying the beautiful sunshine at Poole Park, taking in the views, the breeze, and the simple pleasure of a peaceful day outdoors. These moments may seem small, but to the people we support, they mean everything - connection, freedom, dignity, and joy.
To our Care Professionals: thank you for creating days like this. Thank you for noticing when someone needs a change of scenery, for making time, for offering your arm, your smile, and your kindness. You bring light into peopleβs lives in ways that canβt always be measured, but are always deeply felt.
π You make the world gentler. You make days brighter. And we are so grateful.

π§ Nutrition and Hydration Week: Why training matters
Providing excellent care means understanding how nutrition and hydration affect health, wellbeing and recovery.
At GoodOaks Homecare Bournemouth and Poole our care professionals receive comprehensive training to recognise the signs of dehydration, support healthy eating and help clients maintain strength and independence at home.
Our teams regularly update their knowledge and skills to reflect the latest best practice in care.
We are also proud to offer the GoodOaks Academy, where free care training courses are available to everyone. It is part of our commitment to raising standards across the care sector and supporting those who care for others.
We had such a lovely Social Circle today.
The house felt full of good food, good company, and that gentle springtime energy.
I cooked a chicken, peppers and mushroom curry with rice, popadoms and chutney - and Iβm pleased to say it went down very well.
We followed it with upsideβdown pineapple cake and custard, which didnβt last long on the plates!
After lunch we enjoyed some relaxed conversation, and then we got creative making Easter/Spring cards using the stickers and blank cards Iβd picked up.
A simple, happy afternoon - exactly what Social Circle is all about. π

π₯ Nutrition and Hydration Week: Supporting loved ones at home
Good nutrition and staying well hydrated are essential for maintaining health, strength and wellbeing, especially as we get older.
But for many families supporting a loved one at home, changes in appetite, forgetfulness, medication or reduced mobility can make eating and drinking more challenging.
Small changes can make a big difference. Gentle encouragement, regular routines and nutritious, easy-to-eat meals can all help maintain energy levels and wellbeing.
At GoodOaks Homecare Bournemouth and Poole our care professionals support clients with meal preparation, encouragement at mealtimes and monitoring hydration, helping people remain safe and comfortable in their own homes.
Our fantastic team spent the day at Southampton University completing the Oliver McGowan Training on Learning Disabilities and Autism. Pictured here are some of our dedicated care professionals, team leaders, and our training manager β all bringing their passion and expertise to the table.
This training is an essential part of ensuring we provide safe, respectful, and truly personβcentred support. Every insight gained strengthens the way we care for our clients and helps us champion understanding, dignity, and inclusion in everything we do.
Weβre incredibly proud of the team for their commitment to continuous learning and for always keeping the wellbeing of our clients at the heart of their practice. π

At Good Oaks, weβre passionate about supporting our carers to provide quality, enabling care to our clients in their own homes.
Having founded the Company after working for a company that didnβt value or support itβs staff, we know the only way to provide quality care is to work with quality people, and support them to do the best they can for their clients.
In practice, this means we provide a thorough, paid, practical induction, regular support from our Team Leaders and Coordinators, and approachable, common-sense management.
Our payrates lead the sector, our guaranteed hours are generous and our employment package is designed to reward our carers for the hard work they do.
