First of all, my apologies for taking so long to get a blog out to you, however, life is hectic at the moment. A trip to Northumberland, France and then Maastricht to see Andre Rieu with his Johann Strauss Orchestra. I felt it was time I had a moment to go within, and what better place than a little known stone circle, 5 miles from Dobwalls in Cornwall....

A dear friend shared this quote with me and I am passing it on: "If I have learned something from Socrates is that you cannot teach people anything, you can only make them think. You can only draw out of them the wisdom which is latent within them. And by doing so, you help open their eyes, making them realise that they were born with wings and that they can fly, as high as they want to fly." Blessings "Find what you love and love what you find"

I have featured Men an Tol in a previous blog, but had the calling to revisit the sacred place in preparation for Harmony Day on 19th March and the Super New Moon on 29th March. Both very powerful days. A beautiful sunny day. Not a cloud in the sky and I had the place to myself which enabled me to pass through the healing stone 9 times....

Since coming to Cornwall, I have always wanted to climb to the top of Carn Brea. The obelisk at the top is dedicated to Francis Lord de Dunstanville and Basset. He acquired his enormous wealth from the family mines and although he is said to have put money back into the community, his charitable acts may not have been entirely altruistic....

First of all Happy New Year especially for those born in the year of the Yin Wood Snake. I celebrated by taking myself on the Number 17 bus from Penzance to St Just and walking from there to Cape Cornwall. It is so easy to find. I got off the bus at the St Just bus station and walked up to the square, past the Co-Op and there is the Cape Cornwall Road....

I stumbled on Carn Euny on the A30 on my way back from Chapel Carn Brae. However I have since found a much easier route than taking the tiny, muddy lanes. All I can say, am I glad I didn't have to contend with any oncoming traffic. The Universe must have been looking after me! If only I had taken the footpath opposite the car park at Chapel Carn Brae. ...

This place had been on my "bucket list" since watching the Fisherman's Friends film where it is mentioned in the song Cornwall My Home. "First thing in the morning on Chapel Carn Brae, to gaze at the Scillies in the blue far away". Well I couldn't see the Scillies because of the weather, and there was no chapel. But to me there was evidence of burial chambers which suggests it was inhabited by our Neolithic ancestors, far earlier than any christian chapel....

I wasn't intending to visit this Sacred Site on this trip, but after finding the Tregonebris Menhir, I literally stumbled across it. Still on the A30 heading towards Lands End. I was looking for a place to turn my car around, decided to pull over in a layby to let a convoy of traffic pass me and low and behold, it was the layby for the Stone Circle!...

The Mehir Tregonebris, often known as the Blind Fiddler, stands over 3 metres high with 4 ft below the surface. It is easy to find if you follow the A30 towards Lands End, past Catchall, there is a layby on your left and the entrance to the field is on the opposite side of the road. You have to traverse a stile and then the menhir is to your right....

Firstly, I must apologise for the long break in posting a blog. Three days into my journey into the Yucatan Peninsula (1/11/24), I contracted, what my UK doctor described as "a serious bacterial infection". Foolishly, I had not packed my supplements and as a result, I just about made it back to the UK on 20th November 2024. As this infection had travelled to my chest, I succumbed to a course of antibiotics, followed by another course....

Following on from my visit to St Cleer Holy Well, I set off to find Roche Rock & Hermitage, fondly referred to as the Chapel on the Rock. It was a recent Rick Stein programme, where he visited the Rock Inn, that prompted me to write this blog. My friend and I had made a previous visit to the Inn and the chap behind the bar told me how to get to the Hermitage and the best place to park. ...

The St Cleer Holy Well is easy to find and is sign posted on the main road going through the village of St Cleer. The well was in ruins until 1864, when it was rebuilt, in Gothic splendour, as a memorial for the local vicar. It now stands amidst modern houses and bungalows. Stories tell of the its miraculous virtues and powers of healing, however, at the time of my visit, there was no water and sadly, the well was covered with metal bars....
