🌞 Keeping Cool in the Heatwave 🌞

With temperatures soaring over the next few days, it’s so important we all do our bit to help keep our elderly clients and yourselves comfortable and safe.

✔️ Keep curtains or blinds closed during the hottest part of the day.
✔️ Open windows for ventilation early morning or late evening when it’s cooler.
✔️ Make sure clients have plenty of cold drinks within easy reach
✔️ Encourage small sips regularly, even if they say they’re not thirsty.
✔️ Offer lighter meals that are easier to eat in the heat.
✔️ Watch out for signs of dehydration or heat exhaustion – dizziness, confusion or headaches.

And for you, our staff:
💧 Bring extra water with you – stay hydrated throughout your shift.
🧢 Wear loose, light clothing and sun protection when outside.
🚗 Keep your car stocked with water and take short breaks in shaded areas if you can.
❄️ Use fans or cool flannels where possible to help you cool down between visits.

We’re excited to share a brilliant new resource that’s been launched to support migrant workers living and working in Cardiff.

The app provides:

✅ Information on living and working in the UK
✅ Guidance on employment rights and visas
✅ Signposting to trusted services – housing, health, transport, and more
✅ Training and career development resources
✅ Community links and local contacts
✅ Multilingual support to make information accessible for everyone

💡 How do I access it?

3. Tap to access and start exploring all the resources available to you.

Seren Support Services are an experienced and established domiciliary agency providing care and support to adults living across South and Mid Wales. We have branches in Neath Port Talbot, Brecon, Bridgend and Newport and cover a large geographical surrounding area. Our service is bespoke and centred around the people who use our services, and we are proud to be the first home care provider in Wales to have invested in a fully digital and electronic service.

Seren’s ultimate goal is to become the care provider of choice for both private and local authority contracts.
