Babies and pre-school children are protected from nasty illnesses by the vaccinations that are available in the first years of their lives.

These illnesses include meningitis, measles, mumps, whooping cough, pneumonia, and polio.

Some of these diseases are rarely found in the UK these days or have not been seen here for some time. This is because lots of children are vaccinated against them.

If you have or are a carer for a baby or young child, your GP surgery will send an invite when they are due for vaccination.

Please take up ALL offers of vaccination on time. This will provide your child with the maximum protection.

Check with your health visitor or GP surgery if you’re not sure if your child has had all their vaccinations.

New to Wales? If you and your child have moved to Wales from another country, please ensure they are vaccinated according to the Wales schedule. The timings of vaccinations can vary between countries and your child may need an additional dose of certain vaccines to bring them in line with our schedule and ensure they have the maximum protection. Check with your health visitor or GP.

Mae babanod a phlant cyn oed ysgol yn cael eu hamddiffyn rhag salwch cas gan y brechiadau sydd ar gael ym mlynyddoedd cyntaf eu bywydau.

Mae'r afiechydon hyn yn cynnwys llid yr ymennydd, y frech goch, clwy'r pennau, y pas, niwmonia, a polio.

Anaml y canfyddir rhai o’r clefydau hyn yn y DU y dyddiau hyn neu nid ydynt wedi’u gweld yma ers peth amser. Mae hyn oherwydd bod llawer o blant yn cael eu brechu yn eu herbyn.

Os oes gennych chi neu os ydych chi'n gofalu am faban neu blentyn ifanc, bydd eich meddygfa yn anfon gwahoddiad pan fydd yn bryd iddynt gael eu brechu.

A fyddech cystal â manteisio ar BOB cynnig o frechu mewn pryd. Bydd hyn yn rhoi'r amddiffyniad mwyaf posibl i'ch plentyn.

Gwiriwch gyda’ch ymwelydd iechyd neu’ch meddygfa os nad ydych yn siŵr a yw eich plentyn wedi cael ei holl frechiadau.

Newydd i Gymru? Os ydych chi a'ch plentyn wedi symud i Gymru o wlad arall, gwnewch yn siŵr eu bod yn cael eu brechu yn unol ag amserlen Cymru. Gall amseriadau brechiadau amrywio rhwng gwledydd ac efallai y bydd angen dos ychwanegol o frechlynnau penodol ar eich plentyn i’w cadw’n unol â’n hamserlen a sicrhau bod ganddo’r amddiffyniad mwyaf posibl. Gwiriwch gyda'ch ymwelydd iechyd neu'ch meddyg teulu.

📣 Gallwch nawr ofyn am apwyntiad brechu Covid-19 ar gyfer eich plentyn os yw rhwng pump ac 11 oed 📣

Yn dilyn argymhelliad diweddar y JCVI y dylid cynnig dau ddos o’r brechlyn Pfizer i bob plentyn rhwng pump ac 11 oed, gall rhieni a gwarcheidwaid gofrestru ar-lein i gael apwyntiad ar gyfer eu plant.

Gallwch lenwi ffurflen i ofyn am frechiad Covid-19 ar gyfer hyd at bedwar o blant yn eich cartref yn y grŵp oedran hwn. Os oes gennych fwy na phedwar o blant rhwng pump ac 11 oed yn eich cartref, gallwch gyflwyno ffurflen arall.

Cwblhewch y ffurflen dim ond ar ran plentyn rhwng pump ac 11 oed y mae gennych gyfrifoldeb rhiant drosto, ac sydd wedi'i gofrestru gyda meddyg teulu yn ardaloedd Abertawe neu Gastell-nedd Port Talbot.

Gallwch lenwi'r ffurflen yma: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=uChWuyjjgkCoVkM8ntyPrn5YlLuWlDRLktCfgqCYIW1URVAwNEtXMzhMT0IyRTVKR09HWko1MTJZSy4u

Rydym yn rhoi trefniadau ar waith ar hyn o bryd fel y gallwn ddechrau cynnig apwyntiadau yn yr wythnosau nesaf.

Cysylltir â chi gyda’r cynnig o apwyntiad unwaith y bydd y trefniadau hyn yn eu lle.
Ar gyfer y rhan fwyaf o blant, dylai'r bwlch rhwng pob dos fod o leiaf 12 wythnos.

Fodd bynnag, mae brechiadau eisoes yn eu lle ar gyfer plant rhwng pump ac 11 oed sydd mewn grŵp risg clinigol neu sy'n dod i gysylltiad â chartrefi pobl sydd â gwrthimiwnedd. Y bwlch a argymhellir rhwng dosau ar gyfer plant yn y grwpiau hyn yw o leiaf wyth wythnos.

Mae’r JCVI wedi ystyried ei benderfyniad yn ofalus ac wedi argymell bod brechiad Covid-19 yn cael ei gynnig i’r grŵp oedran hwn.

📣 You can request a Covid-19 vaccination appointment for your child if they are aged between five and 11.

Following the recent JCVI recommendation that all children aged five to 11 should be offered two doses of the Pfizer vaccine, parents and guardians can register online to receive an appointment for their children.

You can fill out a form to request a Covid-19 vaccination for up to four children in your household within this age group. If you have more than four children aged five to 11 in your household, you can complete the form again.

Please only complete the form on behalf of a child aged between five and 11 for whom you have parental responsibility, and who is registered with a GP in the Swansea or Neath Port Talbot areas.

You can fill out the form here: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=uChWuyjjgkCoVkM8ntyPrn5YlLuWlDRLktCfgqCYIW1URVAwNEtXMzhMT0IyRTVKR09HWko1MTJZSy4u

We are currently putting arrangements in place so we can start offering appointments in the coming weeks. You will be contacted with the offer of an appointment once these arrangements are in place.

For most children the gap between each dose should be at least 12 weeks.

However, vaccinations are already in place for children aged five to 11 who are in a clinical risk group or are household contacts of people who are immunosuppressed.

The recommended gap between doses for children in these groups is at least eight weeks.

The JCVI has carefully considered its decision and has recommended that a Covid-19 vaccination is offered to this age group.
