🍳 ANOTHER WAY CALORIES SNEAK IN… WITHOUT YOU EVER NOTICING.

Let's talk about "just a bit extra."

You're cooking dinner at home.
You're being good.
It's not a takeaway.
It feels healthy.

But watch how quickly calories creep in:

• A splash of olive oil in the pan → ~120 calories
• A second splash (because it stuck) → another ~120
• A spoon of sauce while cooking → 50–100
• A drizzle on the plate "for flavour" → another 60

That's 300–400 calories added… without eating a single extra bite of food.

Then there's the tasting:
• A forkful here
• A bite there

Most people don't overeat because they're greedy.
They overeat because calories add up quietly.

Let's use a simple, everyday example — coffee ☕️

You grab a coffee on the way to work.
Feels harmless.
Barely even counts as food, right?

But here's how quickly it can stack up:
• Black coffee → almost zero calories
• Latte with semi-skimmed milk → ~150 calories
• Flavoured latte or cappuccino → 200–250 calories
• Add syrup, cream, or sugar → 300+ calories

That's before breakfast.

Now add:
• A "healthy" snack
• A handful of nuts
• A drizzle of oil
• A sauce you didn't think twice about

Suddenly you're hundreds of calories over — and you never once felt like you overate.

This is why tracking matters.

🔥 WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU EAT THE WRONG AMOUNT OF CALORIES? TOO MANY… OR TOO FEW.

Most people think their problem is one or the other.
In reality? It's not knowing which one they're doing.

This is why calorie tracking matters.

When you eat too many calories, the pain points show up fast:
• Weight creeps up despite "eating healthy"
• Constant sluggishness and bloating
• Poor sleep
• Low confidence
• Frustration because effort ≠ results

But eating too few calories can be just as damaging:
• Chronic fatigue
• Brain fog
• Poor mood and irritability
• Slower metabolism
• Hormonal disruption
• Training plateaus or regression
• Increased injury risk

And the worst part?
Both feel like you're trying really hard.

Rob the head coach has been in the fitness industry for most of his adult life. Since 1999 when he joined the Armed Forces he has been helping 1000s of people to transform their body, fitness and health around the world.
