Let’s talk about Shannon!

Shannon was one of my first clients in the beginning of my aesthetic career. She had anti wrinkle treatment about 1 year prior.

The first picture is Shannon’s skin before any treatment with me (November 2022) with full frown and full raise.

The second picture is Shannon’s skin now, two anti wrinkle treatment sittings later, 6 months apart - AMAZING🙌🏼

Treatment longevity varies per person. But what Shannon has done to maintain her results is follow the aftercare advice provided and also follow a GOOD skincare routine that doesn’t follow any trends and works for her.

A recent study published has shown that your anti wrinkle injections might be less effective after COVID-19 vaccination 🤯 Further research is required at this time.

This is something to think about for any current or new patients thinking about having anti wrinkle treatment. Always let your injector know so that realistic expectations can be set and remember - each individual is different 🫶💉

Stress is inevitable for us all 🫠

But did you know about how stress can cause us to age prematurely?

Managing stress is not only imperative for our mental and physical health, but also for maintaining healthy skin throughout the years.

Everyone’s stress busting tips are different - my favourite is lying in bed with a blanket and a hot cup of tea 🫖

But what I found has helped is planning my days in advance and writing lists, trying to get out for walks and even listening to a podcast.

Nourish your body to reduce your stress levels where possible - your skin will thank you later 🥰

2023 is all about self care ✨💖

There’s a LOT of conflicting skin care information on social media 🤯

I’m by no means a “skin expert” and I’m learning along the way - now I wouldn’t go a day without SPF at least! 🫶 but above I’ve stripped it down to the basics to give you an evidence based oversight of the different causes of ageing and simple tips that can help to slow the process.

Anti wrinkle injections available in clinic work by preventing muscle contractions that cause fine lines & wrinkles therefore reducing their appearance and preventing further or deeper lines whilst in your system (not to mention that glow it gives 🤤)

However - not everyone is suitable for anti wrinkle injections, or maybe just don’t want to commit to them yet. So the good thing is there’s many other everyday tips to look after your skin in the meantime from simple skin care routines to prescription treatments.

The important note to remember is everyone’s skin is different - always choose what works for you and if you’re deciding on anti wrinkle injections - always make sure your practitioner is fully trained & fully insured 💉💖
