Health has never in our lifetime been more prevalent nor valuable.

It always made sense that the more metabolically healthy we are the more equipped we are to fight disease.

Change is hard in ordinary times and may feel like a mammoth task during these uncertain, scary & desperately sad times. The temptation to β€˜comfort eat’ is real & vast.

We don’t know how long we will live with this threat but it is not too late to add another form of defence. Follow the government guidelines on physical interaction, wash hands thoroughly and often and then treat your nutrition and lifestyle as equally important factors.

Whether you partake for faith reasons or just because it’s a great way to strengthen will power and discipline don’t pass up the opportunity of Lent.

Make a decision (a manageable one) and stick to it.

Don’t promise to over haul every habit you have just pick one and give it everything you have.

Forget skinny, forget a certain size and completely ignore anything that uses the word β€˜diet’.

EAT with health as your aim, choose your food based on how long you want to live not just how you want to look.

This won’t only make you feel great it will make you start to see your body completely differently!

No more judging yourself on others peoples standards and ideals but instead you’ll see your body for the miraculous machine it is!

No Blue Monday here.

I’m going to have a productive day, I’m going to work hard, eat some goodness, get the dog out, squeeze in a little body pump, spend some time with my kids that doesn’t involve chasing them out the door and I’m already excited about watching Cold Feet tonight!

We live in a world obsessed by how we look and we are judged (and judge ourselves) based on this.

If I had a magic wand I’d work my magic and change it to a world where we all strived for and valued our health.

Health is the aim and everything else from fat loss to better sleep are results of achieving that aim.

For some of us going full gung ho mental is too much so if you are entering the week promising yourself to β€˜start again’ try this approach.

Change one thing.

Drink more water, get to the gym, cut the day time treats - do whatever you need to but don’t try and do it all.
