** IMPORTANT REMINDER - HOT WEATHER - THE DREADED BULGE **

Please ensure that you run your tubs slightly soft to ensure that there is room for expansion of the air inside the tub and lid.

Air expands with heat and you could damage your tubs permanently if you don't allow for expansion. The internal wall ties can rip and the tub will deform.

The manufacturers advise not to use in direct sunlight. This may not be always possible but if you run the tubs soft you can limit the potential for damage.

It is not necessarily direct sunlight that can damage it. Some keep theirs in a summerhouse and that can be even hotter with no ventilation. The equivalent of an oven. Even if it is under a gazebo, it is the air temperature that can cause the expansion. Keeping the tubs soft can prevent this.

I have not lost a single tub by following this, and I hire out tubs. I have seen many of pictures of damaged tubs because of over expansion.

Just let some air out from the valve, even if already set up.

Tubs with thick sides leave sufficient room so you can push your thumb in by a couple of inches and the higher pressure tubs like the Helsinki and Monaco keep them around 4 psi.

You will notice when they are slightly soft that the firmness of the tub will differ more noticeably between night and day as the air cools down at night. Not a problem.

It can also extend the life of the tub, especially at the seams. It also stops the lids pancaking. They are more resilient to puncture. Think how easy a balloon is to pop when it is hard compared to one that is really soft.

I have also included some photos of tubs that had damage caused by not allowing room for expansion.

I must stress that these that these are the extreme. These tubs are really tough and I don't want anyone having nightmares about damage and punctures etc. A little common sense is all that is required.

Finally enjoy your tubs and this lovely weather!!

Also if anyone wants a descaler these can be obtained via our website. Good to use as part of your regular maintenance program to avoid future issues. Also keeps your pumps running efficiently. Especially important with this current energy issue.
