On Friday our residents enjoyed a lovely Easter activity with Granny’s Home Bakes, making delicious Easter nests! 🐣🍫

There was lots of mixing, stirring, and of course a few chocolatey fingers along the way. Everyone had great fun getting creative and decorating their nests with mini eggs and Easter treats.

A big thank you to Granny’s Home Bakes for another wonderful session 😄🐰🌼

Palm Sunday Holy Communion Service ✝️🌿

Residents gathered in our chapel for a lovely Palm Sunday Holy Communion service led by the Rev. Stevens.
We were grateful to Pat V who, as always, played the music beautifully, and to Peter H for giving a reading during the service.

Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a cuppa and a chat together in reception, making it a very pleasant and sociable afternoon for all.

Yesterday we were delighted to welcome pupils from Nottage Primary School who came along to sing some lovely Easter songs for our residents. 🐣🎶

There were lots of smiles, singing along, and plenty of Easter spirit shared with everyone. To finish the visit, the children walked around the residents to proudly show off their fabulous Easter bonnet creations, which were absolutely wonderful and very creative! 👒🌼

Thank you to Nottage Primary for such a lovely visit – it really brightened everyone’s day. 💛

This week, John Pearman continues to bring the rich heritage of Welsh culture and history to our residents. 🇬🇧🎓

In yesterday’s session, we dived into the fascinating world of Welsh rivers. 🌊 From the River Severn to the Wye, John shared insights into their historical significance, local folklore, and their role in shaping Welsh life through the ages.

Our residents loved learning about the rivers that have played such an important part in Welsh history. 🌿
Thank you, John, for another engaging and educational session! 💚

🐣 Easter Crafts🐣

Our residents have been getting creative this week making beautiful Easter wreaths to decorate the home ready for the Easter celebrations. There were lots of lovely colours, spring flowers, and Easter decorations used to make each wreath unique.

Alongside the craft, some residents chose to knit, chat and enjoy a good natter, making it a lovely relaxed and social session for everyone. 🧶🌼

🇮🇪 Armchair Travel – Ireland 🇮🇪

This week our residents enjoyed an Armchair Travel session to Ireland, exploring the beautiful country from the comfort of home. We spent time looking at famous landmarks, learning about Irish culture and traditions, and sharing personal memories and experiences of visits to Ireland over the years.

Armchair Travel is a lovely way for everyone to reminisce, learn something new, and travel the world together without packing a suitcase. We’re already looking forward to our next destination! ✈️🌍

A touching moment at a Welsh care home. ❤️ Resident Caroline was feeling unwell, so staff got thinking about how they could do something special for her.

Caroline has always had a deep love for horses, so they brought her a horse! 🐴 The effort was all worth it when they saw her smile. It was clear how much joy and comfort this creature brought with it, as Caroline was able to spend time with an animal she feels a connection to.
