Continuing to be involved with a loved ones care is one of the greatest concerns for the families of those who are moving to a care home.

We understand the deep positive impact that family brings to those living with dementia and we actively embrace family involvement. We want families to visit on a daily basis and to be a part of our community.

One of the greatest concerns for families with loved ones who are moving to a care home is that they’re no longer going to be involved with their loved ones ...

Meddyg Care (Help at Home) Ltd is a home care provider with a difference. We always aim to make a difference in people’s lives, bringing smiles to faces every day. Encouraging and supporting individuals to be independent at home for as long as they can.

Person Centred care is of the upmost importance, giving individuals full control over the care they receive, providing continuity throughout.

We are looking for motivated, flexible, positive, hardworking individuals to join us on this new, exciting and rewarding journey, who want to have a lifechanging impact on vulnerable adult’s lives.

You will be expected to support vulnerable individuals who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities or mental health as well as being elderly, to live in their own homes as independently as possible. Supporting them with everyday living aspects such as:

Helping with household tasks
Personal Care
Looking after their health, including medication management where necessary
Companionship
Day to day errands
Keeping themselves safe within their home
You will be expected to work in a way that helps promote the individual's independence and empower them to be as independent as possible. You will follow a specific care plan for each individual, which will demonstrate the needs of the individual and how they want to live their lives.

A Full UK Driving License with access to your own private vehicle is essential for this position. Work related mileage will be reimbursed at £0.45p per mile.

You will also require a full DBS check, and two references before being able to start.

There are a variation of shifts and hours available, which can be discussed during your interview. We are happy to work around your existing commitments.

If you are new to the care industry, we will be here to support you to:

· Completion of our full 2-week Training Induction Programme before starting your job role.

· Support and guide you with the completion of the ‘All Wales Induction Framework’ (AWIF)

· Register you with Social Care Wales Registration.

· 45 hours of training over three years.

· Register and encourage your completion of QCF Health and Social care Qualification within two years.

As an equal opportunities employer, we are committed to the equal treatment of all current and prospective employees and do not condone any form of discrimination.

We aspire to have a diverse and inclusive workplace and strongly encourage suitably qualified applicants from a wide range of backgrounds to apply and join Meddyg Care (Help at Home) Ltd.

If this describes you and you would like more information, then we would be interested in arranging a suitable date and time to discuss further.

If you would like to apply for one of our carer roles, please email a copy of your C.V to HelpAtHome@meddygcare.co.uk or drop us a message on here if you want any further information.

We look forward to hearing from you.

In the October Budget, the Government announced measures that will add significant additional costs to social care services in the form of a 6.7% rise in the national Living wage and an increase in employer national insurance contributions (NICs).

We will continue to support our staff by paying the higher "Real living wage", however, combined with the increase in National Insurance Contributions, the newly Elected Chancellor has chosen to put significant pressures on an already strained industry.

The Carers Trust have said that “The hike to employer national insurance contributions will see the operating costs of care organisations soar while local government remains squeezed, driving some to the brink.”

Care England, which represents independent adult care providers similarly warned that the budget "leaves the sector struggling to cover basic costs, pushing it further toward a point where both capacity and access will inevitably decline"

We believe that the increase in employer National Insurance will put immense pressure on the social care sector, a sector already stretched by funding and staffing issues which is why we are calling on the government to review this decision and exempt all social care providers from these additional costs.

We would be very grateful if you could spare a few minutes of your time to sign the below petition, helping us raise awareness to the negative effect the Chancellors budget will have on Social Care.
