Starting a new role at Meddyg Care means being properly supported from day one.

These photos capture new team members during their training, building the skills and confidence needed to support people safely, kindly, and with dignity. From practical guidance to understanding what person-centred care really means, training sets the tone for the care that follows.

There's always time for a little TLC and some snacks and there's no need for an occasion.

Sharing treats with friends and painting nails is the perfect way to relax at home.

What did we get up to this week at Meddyg Care?

It’s been a really nice, busy week, as usual. On Tuesday we celebrated Pancake Day, which of course meant pancakes for everyone. 🥞

We had some birthdays this week – Margaret turned 89 and Joyce turned 80! Happy birthday ladies. We celebrated with some balloons and cake. 🎂

Alongside that, the week was filled with arts and crafts, a bit of bowling, karaoke, and a quiz day that got everyone involved. Lots of laughs, lots going on, and plenty of good moments shared together. 💙

Beth wnaethon ni yr wythnos yma yn Meddyg Care?

Mae wedi bod yn wythnos brysur ond braf iawn, fel arfer. Dydd Mawrth fe wnaethon ni ddathlu Dydd Crempog, a hynny wrth gwrs yn golygu crempogau i bawb. 🥞

Cawsom hefyd rai penblwyddi wythnos yma – trodd Margaret yn 89 a Joyce yn 80! Penblwydd hapus i’r ddwy. 🎂 Fe wnaethon ni ddathlu gyda balwnau a chacen.

Yn ogystal â hynny, roedd yr wythnos yn llawn gweithgareddau gan gynnwys celf a chrefft, tipyn o fowlio, diwrnod carioci a cwis a gafodd bawb i gymryd rhan. Llawer o chwerthin, llawer yn mynd ymlaen, a digon o eiliadau braf wedi’u rhannu gyda’n gilydd. 💙

Ricky has been part of Meddyg Care since 2021.

For him, what sets Meddyg Care apart is taking the time to truly understand how to care for people living with dementia, and having the support to do that properly, every day.

It’s about understanding the person, not just the condition, and feeling backed as a carer to deliver care with confidence and compassion.

At Meddyg Care, we recognise that every person’s experience of dementia is unique. The Peaceful Walk is our person-centred approach to supporting people living with dementia at every stage.

Rather than rushing or forcing a path, we take time to notice, listen, and adapt – responding to familiar routines, sensory connection, curiosity, and quiet awareness as needs change.

It’s care shaped around the whole person, not just a diagnosis – guided by understanding, dignity, and compassion at every step.

Help at Home - Employee of the Month!

Arlene was chosen as Employee of the Month for January 2026. Although all of the Help at Home team are amazing, Arlene has really shone through this month by showing what true teamwork looks like, supporting her colleagues to ensure that all service users' needs were met while smiling and always willing to help.

Congratulations Arlene!

For Laura, care is about companionship, trust, and really being there for someone – things that can easily be overlooked, but make all the difference.

Laura started her journey as a carer and has worked her way up to become Domiciliary Care Manager for Help at Home. Her experience reflects Meddyg Care’s person-centred approach, where care is shaped around people first, always.

If you’re considering a career in care, Meddyg Care offers a range of opportunities to do meaningful, valued work as part of a supportive team. 🤍

We're on Fire!

Our Help at Home team are at the ready after renewing their fire safety training this month.

We were all excited to take a more hand-on approach so that, if the worst should happen, we have the practical experience to tackle the issue and keep the wonderful people we serve safe.

A familiar car and a friendly face. ❤️

Help at Home is about supporting people to live safely and comfortably in their own homes. Our carers provide person-centred care, taking the time to understand each person’s preferences, routines, and independence.

For many people, seeing a familiar Meddyg Care car arrive is part of the routine. A small but reassuring sign that trusted support is there, when it’s needed.

Car cyfarwydd ac wyneb cyfeillgar. ❤️

Mae Help at Home yn ymwneud â chefnogi pobl i fyw’n ddiogel ac yn gyfforddus yn eu cartrefi eu hunain. Mae ein gofalwyr yn darparu gofal sy’n canolbwyntio ar yr unigolyn, gan gymryd yr amser i ddeall hoffterau, trefn ddyddiol ac annibyniaeth pob person.

I lawer o bobl, mae gweld car cyfarwydd Meddyg Care yn cyrraedd yn rhan o’r drefn. Arwydd bach ond calonogol bod cefnogaeth ddibynadwy yno, pan fo’i hangen.
