New Osteopath Alert!✨ we are excited to welcome May to the team from September 4th!

May studied at Swansea University, graduating with a 1st class Master’s degree in Osteopathy. She was inspired by her own positive experiences with osteopathy and was driven to pursue a career in Osteopathy to help others experience its benefits.

Her dissertation explored the use of pelvic floor muscle training as a complement to manual therapy for urinary incontinence. This highlighted the importance of empathetic, individualised care tailored to each patient’s unique circumstances. She is mindful of how health conditions can impact a patient’s overall quality of life.

Outside of her professional life, May has recently been traveling around South East Asia and Australia and hopes to continue exploring the world in the future. She enjoys creating art, practising Pilates, and spending quality time with her friends and family.

Information regarding Portishead High Street closure

Bristol 10k with 💪🏼

Genuinely enjoyed running this race which as someone who always saw running as a way to maintain fitness and never something to look forward to I’m buzzing! I know 10k for some is a warm up distance but for me it is a nice challenge without doing something silly to my body in its current running fitness 😅

Positives from the race:
1) didn’t have to walk EVEN though I knew there were a few hills and I had told myself before I’ll likely walk up them to conserve some energy. Sailed up them and still confused 😂
2) followed training plan (mostly 😅) before which made the whole process SO much better
3) took Runna advice and did the first 5k nice and gentle and then if at the halfway point feel can push it go for a quicker last few km which I definitely did and felt good to do ✅
4) crowd / atmosphere was SO fun, it was super well run plus get a medal and goodie bag ✌🏼
5) Luxe team spirit is fab and made the whole thing again much more fun
6) I saw a few of my patients at the finish line who were all pain free and happy with their runs even though it was touch and go before the race so that was AMAZING 🥹 proud of you all 💪🏼

Runners high has gone now and now time for some gentle body recovery. Speaking of which - my diary is getting very full this week so if you also ran and need a recovery sesh then message me asap ❤️

3 years of Octave Osteopathy 🥳💐

This has been our biggest growth year to date - Anna going full time here (no more commuting from London) and a fair amount of reinvestment into the clinics (new signs, training in dry needling, new equipment, new flooring upstairs etc) 🧡

We are so happy to be able to help the community of Portishead & surrounding North Somerset / Bristol areas with their injuries. We have had some really lovely feedback this year and can’t wait to see how many more people we can help moving forwards!
