Yoga Friendly

Yoga Friendly Yoga for All! This yoga can fit all bodies - no matter who you are, your age, ability or level of fitness. Everyone can benefit with practice!

I call myself a ‘yoga addict’! Initially I came to yoga to ‘get a bit of exercise’ but over the years I have discovered that the many layers of yoga go so much deeper than just the body. Now I come to yoga for much more than just ‘exercise’! Through teaching yoga, one to one sessions and pregnancy yoga; I hope to be able to help others discover the rich benefits of the yoga. I am convinced that yo

ga, practiced suitably, can benefit absolutely everyone. I am profoundly grateful for the inspirational teaching I have had over the past 20 years. My teachers have given me a depth of knowledge and understanding about yoga. Through my extensive studies with Paul Harvey who studied in India with TKV Desikachar, I feel I have a direct link with Krishnamacharya, whom some say is the grandfather of yoga. I have also been blessed with endless support, advice and encouragement from others without whom I would never have continued this journey. I thank all who have added so much to my learning. I have experimented with many different styles of yoga, but I always return to the Viniyoga tradition, as it’s like coming home! With its emphasis on breathing, slow dynamic movement and individual attention, it is different from many other forms of yoga. Viniyoga uses the techniques and ideas of yoga and applies them to the individual, respecting all aspects of their personal circumstances. This might include factors such as their age, health, physical abilities, occupation lifestyle, culture, religion and what they might be looking for from yoga. By using this tradition of yoga, the yoga I teach is safe and suitable for everyone. My training differs from that of many others in that it works at two levels, both as a yoga teacher and as a yoga therapist. I am now a registered member of the CNHC organisation. By using the CNHC quality mark I am demonstrating to members of the general public and other healthcare providers that I conform to national standards of practice in my work. This in turn enables members of the general public and those who commission the services of complementary healthcare practitioners to confidently choose well qualified practitioners in their field, as they will be able to validate competence by confirming registration with the CNHC.

RENEW YOUR NATURAL WELLNESS...

Join us for this rejuvenating weekend on a beautiful Somerset smallholding in its peaceful garden and traditional cider orchard. Immerse yourself in nature's beauty as we combine the healing practices of yoga, rambles, and nutritious eating. It is the perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and to reconnect with your inherent wellbeing.

I am an experienced, skilled yoga teacher and therapist. I will guide you through revitalising yoga, breathwork, and meditation sessions. Our host, Kate with her in-depth knowledge of the local area, will lead you on walks through the Somerset Levels and historic Wedmore. She will also offer you delicious homemade meals and snacks from her farmhouse kitchen.

There are options to stay in a stylish and comfortable bedroom or to bring your own tent and camp in the orchard. Alternatively, you can attend the retreat for just a day. Book now to receive 15% off via the link below (copy & paste into browser):

I had it easy. There were places to eat, drink shower and rest. All the Way was marked clearly signed with the iconic Yellow Arrows. Even i didn't get lost! The ancient pilgrims must have had a really hard time with none of that support for them. The cemetries show that many didn't make it. Lets not forget that us modern-day folk have it really easy.

I made it to The (so called!) End of The World at Fisterra. This is point zero on the Camino marker. It's been quite a challenge to walk about 300 miles, but well worth the effort.

There are so many pilgrims trudging towards santiago in the inclement conditions. It would be easy to have a false sense of superiority when the majority of them join at Sarria to complete the last 100km. But we never know someone else's story, so we welcome them all.. (even if the queues for the loose are about a mile long!!)

I was glad to be prepared today. It rained, and oh how it rained!
