Follow these tips to help your garden look fabulous WITHOUT developing pain in your potting shed…
⏰PACE YOURSELF - you don’t have to do everything at once! Allocate a specific amount of time to your gardening. Start small and work up.
🙆♀️WARM UP - Start with lighter jobs and build up to larger ones. Take time to move your body and be conscious of its movement.
⛏️USE EQUIPMENT - from kneeling stools to long handled loppers, there’s loads of tools to help make jobs easier on your body!
💧HYDRATE - did you know that a small drop in hydration can result in a significant reduction in your body’s capacity for physical labour? Keep sipping on water throughout your activity to remain well hydrated!
🧊ICE - once you’re done, use ice to reduce any inflammation in your lower back and neck. Simply wrap an ice pack / back of frozen peas / alternative in a tea towel and hold on the area for about 10 mins.
