Definitely worth a read folks. ❤️
You might be surprised to know that we are all walking around with cancer cells but under normal circumstances, our immune system is able to cope, recognise the problem and remove it.
When we receive a diagnosis of cancer it can be incredibly scary but no one is exempt from malformed cells such as cancer. Our immune system can cope with these guys in low numbers, but sometimes due to several reasons such as environmental or lifestyle conditions cancer cells are given the green light to proliferate.
There are some conditions that are not modifiable, in other words, things we cannot change like genetics but most reasons behind the occurrence can be modified. Prevention is definitely the way to go, we can all look at our lifestyle and probably make some changes that would benefit our health.
I consider regular massage a health benefit so I actually get regular monthly massages, I think we all need to practice what we preach.
My diet is another area I concentrate on, I am continually amazed by others' impressions of what that looks like. If it comes in a package, there are words listed in the ingredients I do not understand or it contains sugar it does not go into my shopping cart. Full stop!
Moderate exercise is exactly that, the best form of exercise does not require you to beat yourself up, choose things you enjoy, like walking, gardening, and swimming, these are all suitable forms of activity. I recommend if you take up an activity that you look forward to, you are more likely to stick to it.
These are but a few examples of how to improve your lifestyle that will benefit your health, a few others discussed in my oncology course are sleep, laughter, and emotional well-being. All of these examples are an important part of the homecare we can offer as part of our service.
