One day, you could be called upon to save a life…would you know what to do?

We’re supporting today with their annual Restart A Heart campaign.

Today, our Mini First Aid team will teach hundreds of parents, carers, children and workers how to carry out CPR on all ages.

You never know when someone you love might need help, or when you might be the closest bystander in an emergency. Survival rates from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest remain love in the UK, with fewer than one in ten people surviving.

Everyone has it in them to save a life. Do something incredible today and book a first aid class! 💚

Hi all...

Sadly, Hot drinks are the leading cause of burns to children in the UK.
Serious hot drink burns to children are up 16.4% since 2022.
These are not minor injuries.
Every child in this statistic needed specialist hospital treatment for life-changing burns.

Today is National Burns Awareness Day, we're supporting in highlighting the impact of burns and how so many of these injuries are preventable.

You can read Charlie's story in our blog this week. Charlie was just 15-months old when he pulled a pan of boiling water over himself.

We chatted with Charlie's mum, Michelle, to find out what happened that day, how Charlie's burns were treated and how the family managed with the ongoing trauma and physical recovery.

At Mini First Aid, we know that family life can be a whirlwind - juggling dinner, homework, and the endless “Muuum!” moments that fill...

If a hot drink or liquid spill happens anywhere near your child’s nappy, remove it immediately. You can see here how the temperature is retained inside the nappy as the hot water is absorbed.

Nappies are designed to retain liquid so in a hot drink or water spill, all of that hot liquid is being held directly against your little one’s skin which is why it’s important to remove it as quickly as possible.

⭐️ The exception to this is if the material is stuck to burnt skin, do not attempt to peel or remove.

Burns or scalds on the ge****ls can be severe and may warrant further medical treatment.

Our two-hour baby and child first aid classes for parents takes you through exactly what to do if your child receives a burn, what steps you should take, how to treat it and when you should seek further medical assessment.

Today is , this week do something for you and your baby, book a first aid class!

Classes are £30 per person, check our website to book.

A bit more information about Meningitis and Sepsis

If you have a child under five years old, you need to be aware of meningitis and septicaemia, because children in this age group are more at risk than older children and adults.

In young children, the first symptoms of meningitis are usually fever, vomiting, headache and feeling unwell. Limb pain, pale skin, and cold hands and feet often appear earlier than a rash, neck stiffness and dislike of bright lights and confusion.

Please don't take any chances, seek medical help if you are worried about your child.
