“We are thrilled to be working with British Sign Language interpreters, Performance Interpreting again at this year's Victorious! 💙 It is important to us that the D/deaf community can enjoy and access the festival & share in the magic!

Performance Interpreting Ltd will be providing registered qualified BSL interpreters & interpreting performances from the accessibility platforms throughout the weekend.

It’s ok to want a short break from hearing ☺️🫶🏻

The Break he needed

He took his cochlear off.
Not because he was upset.
It wasn't too loud.
But because sometimes…it's just too much
he was just ... tired.

Tired of listening.
Tired of trying to keep up.
Tired of all the sound that most people never think twice about.

For kids with cochlear implants, listening isn’t passive- it’s work.
And sometimes, they need a break.
To sit. To breathe. To not decode every sound.

So he turned his ears off.
Closed his eyes.
And gave himself peace.

This is listening fatigue.
It’s invisible, but very, very real.
And we honour it.

It’s not something we parents think about enough.
But for our kids, silence is a choice.
And sometimes, it’s a gift!

Learn BSL with us!
This course is for parents of deaf children who wish to learn BSL.
We understand the importance of sign language within the deaf community and are very excited to fund 40 parents to begin their BSL journey 💫

You will be learning unit 1: introduction to BSL over a course of 16 weeks with a qualified deaf tutor.

As this is a fully funded course, we are asking for full commitment to complete the course (with exceptions to holidays booked)

Once completed, if you wish to continue further, “sign for thoughts” offer an exam for £20 per person- to be passed to move onto the next unit.

There are 3 units in total for level 1 BSL.
SKZ will do as many units/levels of BSL we can fund in the future 🤞🏻

Who will join us on this exciting journey! ❤️

You do not have to be a SKZ member to attend, but we do ask for commitment (with exceptions of holidays!) for the 16 weeks.

We would like to announce our October Half Term Activity! 💫
Join us at Calshot Activity Centre for a day of fun with your friends on Saturday 25th October! 😁

This is a full day of activities, starting at 9.30am, and planned to be finished by 3.15pm
Please bring a packed lunch, or there is a cafe on site to purchase both hot and cold food from.

There are age restrictions on each activity:
Ringos 3+
Climbing 5+
Aero Trek 9+

For those younger children who will not be able to participate in an activity- there is a play area in the cafe, aswell as a laser fun wall (£6 for 10 minutes) they can take part in- this will be funded by SKZ on the day.

We are very excited about this event and hope you are too!
Please book in by 24th August at the latest- stating the children’s ages they will be.

Please note the parking is £8 for a day rate- however a discount code can be obtained from reception on arrival 🚗

A lovely family day out to enjoy as a community 🥰
