World Mental Health Day 💚
I’ve been reflecting more deeply on this today. We’re all a bit on edge in society — with work, finances, relationships — it doesn’t take much to feel overwhelmed.
I try to keep myself level-headed and notice the signs when they come. I know I’m one of the lucky ones who’s learned not to let things build up.
My grandmother has struggled with mental health most of her life. It saddens me that it was often covered up with medication, rather than being given the tools to heal. She’s in her 90s now — bossy, funny, full of life — but I still feel her pain beneath it all.
Recently, I’ve been teaching in a mental health care home, and it’s opened my eyes even more. I feel such deep compassion for the people there — grateful that they’re safe, cared for, and supported. From the little things — offering a gentle massage with oils, playing music, speaking kindly — they begin to open up and release. I love witnessing these small shifts. The power of music, movement, and touch helps ease their blockages and brings light back into their eyes.
We’re all capable of struggling — none of us are immune. So next time you see someone, don’t judge. Offer a smile, a moment of kindness. And do the same for yourself.
Wake up and feel blessed for what you have. Take time to say thank you, and nurture yourself with the tools and rituals that keep your mental health clear and balanced. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
